Hmmm, annual party tonight. Hope this doesn't follow my experience of extravegant parties signalling the zenith of a company's fortunes!

Great contribution. You might as well say 2p.
(or 200p).

video interview
MoPowered boss buoyed by market conditions

MoPowered (LON:MPOW) chief executive Dominic Keen explains why the strong market conditions for online retailersbode well for the mobile commerce group.
Keen talks about the importance of repeating and recurring 'SaaS' revenues and how the company is working on speeding up the process of bringing new customers on board.
He also expects more big name signings this year and reveals the company's plans to go global.

Great analysis. (that's sarcasm btw).

Not much to see here atm and short on detail, but at least get a few facts right:

1. On-boarding (I hate that phrase) is not the same as signing up a merchant.
2. Merchant sign ups are still moving well - see previous RNS, although I would have liked to see more detail on whether that is continuing at the same pace as the 20 in the first 2 months.
3. On-boarding; the process of getting a mobile site up and live, I was told, depending on complexity of merchant site takes between 4-8 weeks. Which is very short. Which is one of the USPs. Looks like in some cases its drifted from very short, to not quite as short.

I don't know why anyone invests in something that is obviously going to be loss-making for some time, only to then bother that its loss-making.

Did anyone expect an RNS saying they had signed up 100 retailers in the time since the last RNS ?

Did anyone expect to see them cash-flow positive ?

Probably best to invest in MONI, that has more cred. because its bigger. Never mind the bigger losses.

Not convinced of the upside any more and if anything think it could become a penny share sadly. I was invested, but was out for a small loss. I don't think its a bad business, but their results and outlook has been poor imo and the shares have been drifting in what is a very strong market. Add to that the fact they are loss making and will be for some time, I think their is a good chance the market will murder this when the markets get stretched/dip. Even on good contract win news the share price hardly moved if I remember correctly. So any any hint of bad news it will really tank I think. On that basis I think its a good short. I could well be wrong. Just my opinion.

With an mcap of 12 million, is it really worth shorting?. I would have thought more upside IF this takes off.

Genuine question; is anyone here shorting the shares? I can't seem to get a competitive quote so would appreciate any input on which firms you are using. Thanks.

Trading in line but "The on-boarding of new merchants has been slightly longer and more costly than anticipated"

Read as: We were expected to make naff all, in fact lose £2.9m, now we are going to lose more than that

Red ink is a known. It would have been known to the staggers and chancers who were hoping for a honeymoon. There was no honeymoon so they're selling.

when results are out and folk see all that red ink this will get nailed

Like any other loss-making float, except its losses might not be sufficient to attract the crowd. There aren't really any expectations.

The key is the business model and the tech and whether they are accelerating client sign-ups.

Its absolutely going to be a high growth market - online retailers can't afford not to have a mobile-optimised site.

cannae believe this is more than 15p

But then its forecast to report a loss of £2.7m this year

Maybe that appeals to come folk

Agree Yump there are no clear parameters. But all it would take is 'below expectations' statement for the share price to massively tumble. Equally could rise on the converse, but considering the selling taking place, I'm more on the cautious side.

I think its pretty simple. There are no specific expectations as far as I can see, so deciding if good or bad will be purely subjective.

Good revenue growth or accelerating = good news.
Little revenue growth = bad news.

Probably.

Profits not coming for some time, so nothing to compare with to figure out if good or bad with respect to those.

I'm out. Have held since the IPO but consistent selling over the last few weeks has eroded any margin for bad news in the results so for now I'll watch from a distance. Can't help but think might be some bad news on the way and being less tightly regulated than main listed stocks, whether it has leaked. Taken a small loss but happy to buy in again if the results are good. Not worth the risk for me right now but it could all be fine and I do like the overall story. Good luck holders.
