03/1/2002 11:56 | That was a lovely jump, finally got some reward for the risk. I'm outta here 10k @ 97.3 = 50%! | idioterna
03/1/2002 10:24 | Looking good again - up on increased volume and now above the last high in June last year. If it can get obove £1-00 it could go up a good bit more. | this_is_me
03/1/2002 10:04 | Up nicely again today, papers in UK full of 'retailing boom' over Christmas period. Monsoon has the type of stuff that IMHO should benefit nicely from this. Improving sentiment, good fundamentals and further positive newsflow should see them higher. Look at New Look (NEW), let's see if we can get higher than them lol. | rdj20
03/1/2002 09:50 | Apparently tipped as share of the week in Investors Week-though haven't seen it myself. | cwa1
02/1/2002 13:47 | 150,000 buys today - looking good | this_is_me
02/1/2002 10:25 | Plenty of buys this morning. I agree that we would like to see the price get above the highs in the 90p range ehere there has been resistance before - maybe this time it will as sentiment for MSN seems to be changing with consistently good results and strategy. | this_is_me
02/1/2002 06:32 | The International move is what I've been waiting for and the structure of the approach (franchising)could be sound. I bought in at 64 last year after they sensibly gave-up on on-line retailing and mentioned international expansion, so I'm glad to see that MSN is finally getting there. Restucturing and consolidation (particularly in the S.E) is probably in the pipeline but I don't see the share price getting above 92 without some outstanding results. | idioterna
02/1/2002 01:40 | Hi, Monsoon issued the best clothing retail trading statement that I have seen during 2001 - on Oct 2nd they announced 11% increase in LFL sales for first 18 weeks, i.e the lions share of the Interim period. Therefore, it is pretty much certain that the interims to be announced on 21/1/02 will be excellent. Also, the Times recently published a small piece which said that Accessorize (which now accounts for over 50% of the store portfolio) if "flying", with LFL over 10% again in November 2001. I am a big fan of this share, and estimate that the P/E on this year's earnings is just 8, on 11p forecast EPS. More exciting than all of this is that the MD has moved sideways to concentrate solely on international expansion. The international expansion is being carried out via franchisee partners, and Monsoon is in a largely unique position for this, in that it has far higher gross margins than most competitors, since it buys cheap in India, and sells for high prices. Therefore, there is more than enough room for a good wholesale margin (for Monsoon), plus a decent margin for its overseas franchisees. The same is not true for most clothing retailers, which make inadequate gross margins to support franchising. The US is particularly exciting, as Monsoon has signed up a big US retailer as a franchisee, which could lead to a very rapid store roll-out in the US if it works. Not entirely without risk, but for a P/E of 8, plus a 5% divi yield, Monsoon is my favourite share for 2002 and beyond. Look what happened to New Look shares this year when they demonstrated they were back in control - up from 50p to 160p. Regards, Paul. | paulypilot
28/12/2001 16:30 | A couple of moderately sized trades today but no movement in the price... next small buy might give its price a lift. I think it's being held back due to uncertainty over its recent sales performance with many people waiting for the post xmas announcement. Still can't believe it's on an equal (well slightly lower) rating than Hamleys. | factsonly
27/12/2001 22:54 | Buy candidate (27 Dec 2001) [Auto] Help Is within a rising trend. Continued positive development within the trend channel is indicated. Previous technical comments: Buy: Price 87.00 (20011219) [A] Buy Signal: Short term trading range. Is within a rising trend, which indicates a continued growth. Has also broken a resistance level in the short term and given a buy signal for the short-term trading range. Positive volume balance, i.e. high volume in days of rising prices and low volume in days of falling prices, strengthens the stock further in the short term. Assessment Medium Term: Buy I am not an expert chartest but I would think that the high of 93.5p in June is what we want to see passed. | this_is_me
27/12/2001 16:47 | THIS IS ONE, where is the next resistance level i have it at around 95p,and yes you are right it has been in upwardation since sept.Do you have any short term price targets for this. | pav 1
24/12/2001 11:19 | If you are going to buy you would need to buy sooner rather than later. It is up a lot since I bought at 57p and is on a upward trend at present. If you wait too long it will reach its peak and then it will be too late. | this_is_me
23/12/2001 19:27 | PAV1:The type of product dealt in by Monsoon is a very good one,and their outlets, generally speaking, are held in high regard. The company may be well advised to follow the restructuring policies of both Arcadia and New Look, who have seen the benefits of closing less successful outlets, the latter having spotted the wisdom of less, but much bigger stores.Good luck with your holding in Monsoon---I may join you in the New Year, Boc. | bocadillo
23/12/2001 18:31 | First few weeks should be good as punters pile in b4 results.Their accesorize brand is doing well, any views for or against appreciated. | pav 1
19/12/2001 19:18 | Some more serious action today - someone is very interested and the price is up again. | this_is_me
18/12/2001 18:35 | That was some size of a T trade today - it must have been a buy since the price went up. | this_is_me

04/12/2001 14:18 | Well they have an internet site but I think they have got it confused with Microsoft Networks which is abreviated to MSN. | bograt
