Business speak states that "The Group's results are in line with market expectations" and that packaging has "strong sales growth and significantly increased profits". Almost sounds good until you see that they posted a significant loss which means the other division must be a disaster. Killer line for me "The Board is mindful of the challenges being faced in 2016 ... We therefore consider it appropriate to retain more funds within the Group and to reduce the level of the proposed final dividend" A profit warning to me with a smell of more to come. I sold out straightaway this morning.

Thanks Brummy, good positive update - the 138p target price would be wonderful. I noted the comment about additional upside if planning permission is granted on spare land in Bucks. I think this was mentioned some time ago and given the push to build more houses, whilst prices are high I would have thought obtaining permission should be a priority (if indeed permission is sought for residential rather than commercial development).

Results in line with guidance. No nasty surprises. Significant reduction in UK pension deficit.

The last trade of the day was mine, a buy at 75.99 recorded as a sell. I suspect the other 76p plus trades were buys as well. I cannot see any reason why the company is so lowly rated given the dividend and its long established history of paying out. it is a niche well establihed manufacturing company in a specific market. maybe it is the summer lull and a good buying opportunity?

Problem is that every time management sounds half confident the next news is a profits warning. They don't seem to have any great visibility. It all looks good and then the expected orders don't materialise and the forecast numbers are taken down. Sure the shares are cheap but investors need some assurance that the company can grow the business for more than one half year period.

Interesting article Brummy thanks. Equity Development increase target price from 125 to 138p. Also Panmure Gordon increase from 165 to 190p.

interesting Woodcutter. The NAV is of course impacted by the pension and can move plus 20 million in a flash. I think the divi is covered twice this year and we are at a low point. clearly some risk to get almost 7% but worth it for me. I first bought at 50p on a 10% yield. Stem the losses and we could see profits next year up to 2/3 million higher meaning EPS in the high 20`s or low 30`s. On a forward p/e on current year of 5 I am happy top keep buying. tiger

had a quick glance at last years figures with a view to investing on the basis of the yield. Decided against making an investment based on the following The dividend looks at risk to me balance sheet is very weak equity £26m liabilities £52m pension deficit £20m cash generation okay relative to profits but less than divi. capitalise spend in line with D&A but too high imv The underlying P&L figures are not truly representative as the pension costs are real and ongoing. If they could do something with the pension liabilities it would begin to look intersting like RNO. on my watch list woody

IC special situations re yield etc. Nothing new just what we all know. Divi looks ok and upside in for free. I started here at 50p paying me a 10% yield as it was 5p then. February 2009 As far as I am concerned the shares will never be for sale as my now 12% keeps rolling in. These shares are fantastic for income. tiger
