Jeffries International has issued a downgrade today. Just bought some on the back of that. I love brokers downgrades on this stock. We get this every year with MTO and a few months later or less you are normally in healthy profit. Good buying op IMO. Hoping for > 300p

Subsidiary care company heavily criticised again on the Today programme this morning. Lengthy interview with one ex-carer and one less-than-impressive regulatory spokeswoman. Mitie mentioned by name.

If a service user, elderly or otherwise falls, you are not allowed to move the person, you phone 999 immediately. MITIE has not been of interest to me for the past 3 years and I see no reason to alter that view, just IMV only, DYOR as always.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-32715728 allegations of not paying minimum wage and cutting short carers visits not good for investors confidence in the ethics of MTO

I think the care market needs shaking up and IMO there is a crisis there awaiting much greater press coverage. The winners will be those companies who get it right. Initially those NOT making money from it may prove to be the long-term winners. I won't be deploying capital while we wait and see however. Time will tell.

I got out when MITIE entered the care market. I new it would be a mistake and said so at the time. GLA.

I know somebody who is a carer and its much the same. I doubt that it is only MITIE who are paying low wages to them.

I listened to a report on Moneybox live on Radio 4 last week interviewing carers employed by a Mitie company in South Wales. Didn't sound good at all and I sold out as a result. Allegedly carers were very poorly paid and only given 5 mins to get from one appointment to the next in a rural part of south Wales where journeys could be as long as 16 miles. You'd need a Tardis not a car to make that schedule and such penny pinching smacks of a company that finds itself with underpriced contracts trying to make ends meet, that or poor management. Either way I was not impressed. I fear chickens may be coming home to roost here.

todays announcement is probably more due to underpricing.I would not be surprised to see more of the ridiculous right offs they did with the engineering concern coming again. That was an exit badly managed by senior management, costing wy more than forecast an necessary. There are some good performing small business in here being constrained by large charges from head office. In one case 150k pa for technology which gave out a few blackberrys and a computer some years ago.Where did all the money go? That is not an answer you will hear in a hurry from the senior management. The salary are huge for the performance of some of the people in the head office. The accountant brought in from a low salary to a huge salary and many many options.Unfortunately she is just a lacky for the MD,who rewards her . Some real independent thinking needs to go on and it is stiffled. It needs an axe taken to it. Mr Telling senior will be turning in his grave. more trouble to come methinks. All my opinion

Maybe a few shorters singed today then. I am a long term holder.... so being paid a nice dividend which sustains through periods of price weakness.
