Mirriad renews contract with Youku
Mirriad Advertising plc (MIRI), a video technology company delivering in-video advertising globally, is pleased to announce that it has renewed its contract with Alibaba-owned Youku.
Youku, one of China's leading entertainment platforms, deploys Mirriad for in-video advertising, an important component of its content monetization strategy. Youku signed an exclusive contract with Mirriad for China in late 2015 shortly before being acquired by Alibaba. The initial phase of this contract expired in December 2017 and has now been renewed, on a non-exclusive basis.
Youku have been instrumental in introducing in-video advertising to the Chinese market and have run multiple in-video campaigns to-date. Most notable is the recently completed Tangeche campaign. Tangeche is one of China's leading financial automotive leasing businesses and during the period the campaign targeted younger drivers and featured embedded advertising in a large number of shows aired on Youku's platform reaching a very large number of viewers in the target demographic.
