It's normal for US... nothing will come of it.

LOL. Happens all the time to lots of companies whose share price takes a big hit - they're just ambulance chasers. Anyway, I'm out of here - this is all just getting too ridiculous for words.

from the May trading update

"As stated in the 19 March 2018 trading update, DSOs remain elevated in the short term, and net debt is expected to improve to approximately $4.2 billion by 31 October 2018, in line with market consensus."

That's what Goldman Sachs believe, from The Times on Friday:

"Goldman Sachs helped to propel Micro Focus to a more positive finish, after naming it on its mergers and acquisitions target list."

Just had a quick look at the debt on the b/s and this sale could clear the whole debt off if that the case that very good have I missed some thing.

If that the case then with such strong cash flows the company could be a take over target itself

and with the low price take out price could be less that £26 just a through

Management have in the past been focussed on returning funds to shareholders using debt within a formula to equity to achieve this. If the formula permits I’ll be surprised if some of these funds are not returned sometime in the future given the reduction in Balance Shheet size.

Unitw- the RNS is clear that it is on a debt free basis.

Woodhalk, I did read the rns and as I said (IMHO) In My Honest Opinion they should use all proceeds (after tax of course) to pay of debts rather than return some to shareholders.

Micro share price is well underpriced. They issued 2 good news so far. After the sale they should have very little debt left.

Have you actually read the RNS, Highlands?

"The net proceeds will be used in part to pay any tax arising from the Transaction and to repay a proportion of the existing Micro Focus Group debt. The remainder of the net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and/or returned to Shareholders through whatever mechanism the Board may in its discretion determine at the relevant time."

It is also a great deal:

"Micro Focus believes the Disposal Consideration represents a highly attractive enterprise valuation for the SUSE Business at approximately 7.9x revenue and 26.7x Adjusted Operating Profit of the SUSE Business for the twelve months ended 31 October 2017."

IMHO the proceeds should be used to reduce debt. I'm sure this won't be the last unit disposed.
