04/8/2017 08:18 | Not worried about day to day shareprice movement, as long as the cash cow keeps giving, lolIt's all technical anyway, flowback, meaning some US funds can't hold UK shares were forced to sell. Hedgies knew this and shorted. | montyhedge
04/8/2017 08:06 | The next. £1.67 is ex div 31st Aug. That gives us about 9% back this year in dividends. Superb. | montyhedge
03/8/2017 18:06 | Yep, cheap here. Fact is cash... could see 100 point rise a day. HPE will generate huge amounts of cash. It's what the company does for God's sake, generate huge cash out of old systems. That's its business.... Lean to understand the market. Going way higher in my opinion. | kuss1
03/8/2017 17:34 | We can start moving back up next over coming months | losses
03/8/2017 13:23 | Seen it on other stocks before as well (i.e. selling before ex-div date). I've always thought it's because folks don't want to pay income tax and prefer capital gain but I'm just guessing from what I might do in the circumstances. Strategy being to catch the arbitrage between people who want income bidding-up the price before ex-div (selling into that) and the price dropping ex-div (buying back in at a lower price) for future capital gain. | sogoesit
03/8/2017 12:40 | Right got it..Ex-Dividend Dates: When Are You Entitled to Stock and Cash Dividends. ... The ex-dividend date is usually set for stocks two business days before the record date. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. | losses
03/8/2017 12:38 | Thanks enami... I thought xdiv was 3rd so had to hold overnight to be on the register on 4th. | losses
03/8/2017 12:34 | Losses "being on the register" means that the company look at who owned the shares at the end of business an Wednesday and pay them the dividend. The differebce between XD and ON THE REGISTER is to account for the snail mail trabnsactions which may have taken place. | enami
03/8/2017 12:31 | This is from results reportThe dividend will be paid in Sterling equivalent to 45.22 pence per share, based on an exchange rate of £1 = $1.29, the rate applicable on 11 July 2017, the date on which the board resolved to pay the dividend. The dividend will be paid on 25 August 2017 to shareholders on the register at 4 August 2017. | losses
03/8/2017 11:02 | 45.22p paid on 27th August, then the big one boys around £1.67 ex 31st August. | montyhedge
03/8/2017 11:00 | ringer Have faith a cash cow best dividend growth player. | montyhedge
03/8/2017 10:26 | ringer Do you honestly believe they have done this takeover for lower growth. We have had the best run, with special dividends all the way up, predictions in three years £40+ a share and getting paid very nice while we get there. Now of course if you don't believe in Loosemoore and the team, find another share and sell up. Looses Its ex div today, not tomorrow. 45.22p 2018p.e forecast 14, thats seems good value seeing most on a p.e 30. | montyhedge
03/8/2017 10:20 | Losses. It is ex divi today so If you buy shares today they will not attract dividend until next time. That is my understanding. The divi at today's dollar rate is around 44p. The question is why did it go down so much yesterday. Monte. I said specifically you would have "no immediate gain" from the special divi. You cannot assume that what happened in the past will be repeated this time. I would suggest that it will be at least 6 months before you can see if the Merger is being successful. As a holder naturally I hope it will. | ringer12
03/8/2017 08:07 | Looks like there will be another 100p off tomorrow at this rate when it has gone XDIV | losses
03/8/2017 07:53 | You say that we have no gain, what? We have had special dividends all the way up from 340p, they consolidate, then up we go again. This is a income stock returning 9% this year back to shareholders. Of course ex div shares will fall. | montyhedge
02/8/2017 17:48 | Added to which the return of cash in September will be cancelled out with a reduction in your shareholding so no immediate benefit to the shareholders. Perhaps reinvesting the return of cash at a lower share price you could end up with more shares than before! | ringer12
02/8/2017 16:30 | All very strange. Ever feel like you are a small cog in a large wheel? | nhb001
02/8/2017 16:05 | Lol why has it had a negative effect? | losses
02/8/2017 15:53 | Nhb001, it would explain if the shares open down but today the action was different... shares climbed up into the 2270+ before dropping. | losses
02/8/2017 15:47 | 45p div down by 62p already.. | losses
02/8/2017 15:27 | Seems strange different days, unless yanks are abritraging. | montyhedge
02/8/2017 15:12 | My Stockpedia platform says the following : Upcoming MCRO Events Wednesday 2nd August, 2017 Dividend For MCFUY Thursday 3rd August, 2017 Dividend For MCRO MCFUY are the US ADRs for MCRO. Could this explain the movement today somehow? | nhb001
02/8/2017 15:08 | Xdiv is 3 August so you need to hold over night tomorrow to be on the register for 4th August to get the divi | losses |
