Managed to buy shares at £17.85 as a top up to the shares that I've lost as a result to the capital share back it's going to be interesting to see when I made money on this deal or not as if I have I will do it again next time there's a capital buy-back but I have to say I'm not keen on these share buybacks

Not sure I agree about a declining business. Software is here for many more years. Agree with throwing off lots of cash though. Been a fantastic share these last 10 years.

You won't see them as they have been sold to give you the cash.

Thanks so much Phil, What should I do as my brokers corporate action team are saying it's correct!

Madness. I have emailed investors relations at Micro Focus about this too.

It is wrong. The 1419 New Ordinary Shares and the 1711 B Shares that were issued and then redeemed, share the capital gain base cost of the 1711 Existing Ordinary Shares in proportion to their relative value on 30 April 2019.The B shares are worth 335.859391 pence each and the New Ordinary Shares are valued on the closing MMQ on 30 April of 1937.8 pence.Value of B shares 1711x£3.35859391 = £5,746.55 and the Value of the New Ordinary Shares is 1419x£19.378=£27,497.38 and the aggregate value on 30 April would be £33,243.93.So if your 1711 Existing Ordinary Shares cost £19.21 each their total cost would be £32,868.31.This cost gets allocated to the B shares (5746.55/33243.93)x£32,868.31=£5,681.62And the New Ordinary Shares would be (27497.38/33243.93)x£32,868.31=£27,186.69For UK tax payers the B Share Scheme is a Capital Disposal so based on these numbers Proceeds. £5,746.55Base cost. (£5,681.62)Capital gain. £64.93You should also get cash after the aggregated fractional entitlements are sold.

Dear Client ,

The CA team has processed the price 23.166 at 1:0.8296 . They adjusted it over the open price 19.2185. 19.2185/.8296 brings to price of 23.1659 and also the stock price has gone down as well than originally it was resulting in loss.

They also mention some fraction of shares left which would processed in form of cash.

Before CA
Position Open Price Total Cost price
1711 19.2185 32882.8535

After CA
1419 23.166 32872.554 (10.2995 Difference)

ugandalad and all I got this reply, they're saying the new £23.16 is correct?!

Please could someone let me know if below is correct? Seems wrong

Dear Client,

As per us there should not be any change in total portfolio after corporate action event. Please also inform as he might received cash for fractional shares if we will receive from our custody only.

Holding before Reverse Stock Split Price Total value
1711 1921.85 3288285.35

Holding after Reverse Stock Split Avarage price Total value
1419 2316.6 3287255.4

Fractional Share

I currently hold micro Focus shares and I've actually put in a bid on my Barclays platform to buy at 1786 I suspect as others have said there'll be no movement for another day or two till sorted out the capital repurchases

Course you did Monty. Am I also right in thinking that you are an olympic gold medalist in no less than 26 different events, richer than the Sultan of Brunei, and last but not least, you can levitate and then fly....... I would view all of these things as equally believable as the prices you purport to have bought and sold MCRO shares at. :-))

DB, my broker on consolidation showed the reduced number of shares with the previous cost. They also showed at zero cost the B shares with the value of these shares the value of the capital due to be returned. The net value is all that interests me. Although as the market adjusts the price and I believe that value to be fair I intend reinvesting the funds returned to me, back into MCRO.

Hi dynz,

I just looked at present share price on the LSE. It's definitely trading today down 4.02% and currently at 1,765.60 GBX −74.00 (4.02%)

Also my friend traded the stock today, Just wondering why my consolidated position is at a mad number £23.16 from the 29th? It also lets me trade this position if I want to?

Sorry for all this but would love an answer as corporate havent got back to me.

The share price stated for XP status shares is not the market price, it is the broker price. If you check the London Stock Exchange for MCRO at present you will see that the share price is £0.00 and MCRO has zero volume since 30/4/19.
Once the consolidation concludes the market price will apply.
The present broker day trader trades are of no value.

So just looked at my trading account, My broker opened my consolidated shares on the 29th of April at 9.54 PM (Evening) at £23.16 per share!? Madness as the share price hasn't hit near in 2 years.

Should this have normal-ed out by now? Anyone else seeing weird price since consolidation on their share?

Sorry for this, Just confusing and waiting for corporate action team to get back to me. Cheers

"why is the share price down for the second day? what 's causing this?"

Because it is oversold - check the broker views on its true value
