Mtro UPDATE POST CONFERENCE CALL – Strength of liquidity in the bank was stressed and, most importantly, the absence of any plan whatsoever for any equity raise – this is a big issue for the shorts given tight float and short position per HERE. A key Q was asked towards the end ref potential takeover approaches that was deftly answered by Donaldson – adherence to their "fiduciary duty" was the corporate line but as per the material amount of press in this regard we would expect news on this front in the near term.

The board is hilarious - seeing all the old cliches being posted when a share is in a persistent downtrend and does anyone seriously think they can influence the share price by posting on a bulletin board?

SR, I get why you are trying to temper others enthusiasm but sometimes you just have to accept. I feel you will be fighting a losing battle on this one. Even the media response has been less negative than they have historically been.

Should we say a spate of Directors buying over the next week then in my opinion you could be looking at 250p as confidence grows.

Ref Metro Bank #MTRO Conf call - "We would not expect to come back to the market (re equity) in the near term" Reiterated "100%" by co director. "Liquidity is very very strong today". Chart here gives guidance as to potential range tomorrow.

RE: Remind me of the bull case ?Today 18:10I would agree completely if this were trading at 800p..the fact that it's only @ 25% of that makes these results off the scale,,,compare to 2016 results, when shares were approx 3000p (30 quid)the business is approx 50% bigger on all frontsYou can thank the shorties,,this is an absolute gift

Very happy with trading update a very nice surprise indeed and exceeded my expectations...shareholders equity at £1.7bn, so around £10 per share...bring it on, watch them start closing now:-)))
