18/10/2019 11:29 | Any election is worst case scenario for the EU. Even a no deal exit would be better now. | sentimentrules
18/10/2019 11:27 | To counter stoneme, you need to have a reason for extension. A General election where No Deal is likely is not a reason. The EU by now surely have had enough? | smartie6
18/10/2019 11:25 | To help stoneme, it probably goes like this. The letter is written. EU agree on the basis to allow a General Election. Liberals win the election and revoke Article 50. Yeah, gooooooo liberals | smartie6
18/10/2019 11:24 | Always know when Elcapp destroyed 1oughton...he messages me...because he can't take the Elcapp punishment hahaha | sentimentrules

18/10/2019 11:21 | Stoneme, as little to no political process understanding which is sad to see. Also remember stoneme, smartie is hardly ever wrong. If you are so smart, map out the process to let us know where your revoke assumption is coming from. | smartie6
18/10/2019 11:18 | If there is no extension granted, saying that if a letter is written, then the default is No Deal. To be clear you cannot get away from that. There will be 10days left. An election cannot be called at that point as Parliament would be suspended and BJ can just let the clock run down. So that will not be an option for the opposition. The only thing that they can try to do is call a vote of no confidence. Surely even stoneme can see the above through his blinkers. If a vote of no confidence is won by the conservatives just like jan19 then it is No Deal unless BJ has it in him to give the opposition a chance to vote for it rather than take us out No Deal, but would suggest that would be election suicide. If a no confidence vote is lost then BJ needs to squat in number 10. The other parties will not be forgiven and will also be committing election suicide. If it is down to an election BJ would either stand on the deal or I would say rather hard Brexit which he would win. Hard Brexit is inevitable. | smartie6
18/10/2019 11:16 | hows your short at 41p in HUR coming along SR ? we would all love to know | 1oughton

18/10/2019 11:12 | Sorry. Your logic fails.EU will only be able to decide whether to grant an extension IF, and AFTER it is not approved. Thus leaving the options Extension or No Deal Hard Brexit. Where you are right, is that in gaming for his deal to be accepted, BJ encouraged the 'no extension' mood music to try to leverage those sitting in the fence to vote his deal through. | stoneme

18/10/2019 10:56 | the EU now just want the UK to leave. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron johnhelme - agreed . and exactly right. Respect for those views as a remainer - im seeing alot more remainers now saying how disgusted they are with the way this has been blocked and halted by certain factions. | 1oughton
18/10/2019 10:55 | the Benn letter will be sent if the deal doesnt get agreed, but I suspect the EU will not grant an extension I think what has been explained to the EU is that BJ and the tory party will campaign for a hard brexit if there is an election (its the only way to counter Nigel Farage) and that this deal is the EUs last chance of getting a deal of any kind...so they need to do their bit and stop an extension If there is an election before Brexit, then the Tories on a hard Brexit platform, will get a big majority because most of the Country outside Scotland and London is absolutely sick of the present batch of MPs...the backlash against the hypocrites will be enormous and I speak as someone who voted remain!! on the grounds the benefits of leaving were marginal but the process would be painful...not worth the effort | johnhelme2704
