29/8/2001 07:36 | You always seem to be bang on the money, AK. Always happy to have your thoughts, but even if they halve to 16p I dont know if they will be worth buying with so much economic uncertainty. How low is interest cover in light of current (low) cash position? Any attempted rights issue in current markets is near impossible and i believe might crumple the price I believe to 5p like recognition systems. | spagbol | |

17/8/2001 07:17 | Mettoni says prospects are encouraging, looking ahead with cautious optimism. LONDON (AFX) - Mettoni Group PLC said that while conditions continue to be tough, prospects for the group remain encouraging and it is looking to the future with cautious optimism. These comments were made alongside results for the six months to June 30 which were the first to include a full six months trading from all of the Mettoni Group companies. All of its operating companies were profitable during the period, generating a consolidated operating profit before head office costs and amortisation of goodwill of 1.15 mln on revenues of 13.6 mln up from 3.96 mln last year. Pretax loss for the period widened to 1.60 mln stg from 1.40 mln for the same period last year while losses per share improved to 4.06 pence against 15.4. The group said it is pleased to have achieved these results in what has been undoubtedly a difficult market, with many companies reducing or deferring expenditure on IT. It believes it is focused on the right technology and the right markets to continue to build a strong, profitable business. Mettoni said its strategy of developing inter company alliances is working well with 0.5 mln stg of revenue generated in this way. It added that Troy Holdings, acquired in December 2000, has been successfully integrated. The group also acquired Symetris for 4.4 mln stg in July 2001. | red dog |
