24/1/2007 09:05 | Still cheap! If institutions are buying then I expect a significant re-rating very soon. | allstar4eva
24/1/2007 08:32 | looks like mm's are buying at mid too - so very keen for stock but trying to hide it by not lifting the price advertised imo CR | cockneyrebel
24/1/2007 08:11 | Yep, agreed. | sheik yerbouti
24/1/2007 07:59 | ok, but there's a 115K trade gone through from last night @ 404p - so either a big buy or a sell at a good premium. Something good going on imo CR | cockneyrebel
24/1/2007 07:47 | The buying earlier in the week was down to the tip from Momentum Investor which may have prevented the dip. | sheik yerbouti
24/1/2007 07:44 | Something interesting going on, spiked up yesterday after being down when this news was coming. You would normally have expected these to have drifted to the placing price more or less, pre-placing. Is this why there were lots of buys earlier in the week? For an institution to take that lot they would want assurance on fwd performance for sure. CR | cockneyrebel
24/1/2007 07:27 | I guessed right, the Rankins selling a big chunk of their shares to institutions. The institutions were obviously keen to get on board with the "significant prospects". Metnor, the property development and construction company, is pleased to announce that Teather & Greenwood has successfully placed 3,984,561 existing ordinary shares of 1p each in the Group at an average price of 375p on behalf of two existing shareholders. The Group was today notified that Allan Rankin, ex-deputy chairman of the Group, has sold 666,466 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Group at an average price of 375p. As a result, Allan Rankin no longer holds a notifiable interest in the Group. The Group was also today notified that John Rankin has sold 3,318,095 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Group at an average price of 375p. John Rankin no longer holds a notifiable interest in the Group. Hazel Rankin, the wife of John Rankin, has an interest in 1,888,351 ordinary shares in the Group, representing 12.30% of the issued share capital of the Group. Stephen Rankin, CEO of Metnor, commented: 'Metnor has successfully turned itself into a fast growth property company, focussing on high growth sectors such as healthcare and education. This evolution of the business is reflected by today's changes in the Group's shareholder base, which now includes significant blue chip institutional shareholders. In view of the current order book and the many opportunities in our chosen niche markets, the Board remains confident in delivering on the significant prospects for the Group'. | sheik yerbouti
23/1/2007 21:37 | interesting | leytonorient
23/1/2007 21:03 | the 3m+ trades look like two way trades, so the buy and the sell imo. One of the Rankins have sold I'd say. I would think someone wants big assurance for taking that much stock if a director wanted to sell. On the other hand someone might have come after the stock like a keen AIM fund perhaps? Looks interesting either way. CR | cockneyrebel
23/1/2007 20:10 | sy, according to co refs the Rankins hold 57% or c 8 1/2 million shares. | biggcl
23/1/2007 13:48 | Wow, what's going on, nearly 7m shares traded, there's only 15m in issue! 2 trades for over 3m each. edit: Those trades seem to relate to the holdings of directors S Rankin and J Rankin. They hold over 10m shares, maybe they are getting some institutions on board? | sheik yerbouti
22/1/2007 10:39 | thanks gucci | sheik yerbouti

22/1/2007 08:04 | Have these been tipped? 12 buys already! | sheik yerbouti
17/1/2007 17:40 | I agree - still looks very cheap. As a property co now, can they go for REIT status too? That would boost them further imo. CR | cockneyrebel
17/1/2007 13:53 | Yes, and why not, still looking cheap at this price. | sheik yerbouti
17/1/2007 11:47 | Wow, £4 just paid to get 2.5K - someone is very keen :-) CR | cockneyrebel
12/1/2007 09:15 | "We now have a very strong pipeline of developments for 2007 and beyond and, with this visibility of future earnings, the Board remains very confident of continued strong growth over the next few years." | whipround
11/1/2007 16:07 | The Skies The Limit Hmmmmmmmm you seem to have missed Metnor's very recent bullish trading statement? | steved
11/1/2007 14:02 | Redrow warned today of a difficult outlook and the recent rise in interest rates will add more gloom to housing and construction. This could affect Metnors outlook. | the skies the limit
09/1/2007 21:14 | Yep - what a fantastic chart! | allstar4eva
09/1/2007 21:11 | All time high on easily the highest volume ever - how bullish is that? 1.7m shares traded, over 10% of shares in issue. Volume has only exceeded 500k once before. | sheik yerbouti |
