Might question if this represents value on a 0 NAV discount?.
MRCH was available on a 10% discount previously.

IVI is on a 17% discount to NAV, most of the UK focussed equity income
funds are available near 10% discounts.

Nice portfolio there chart trader2000. Of the 12 you have shown,i also have 8 of them (not the aberdeen, solar, invesco or 24 funds), plus AIF,SDV,BERI,BSIF,(BPET and HGT - the lowest yielding but best overall performing of all of mine since i started seriously holding trusts - about 9-10 years now),HHI ,HICL, IPE, BBOX, MYI and RAVP. Hopefully another 5 yrs of auto dividend reinvestment to come, and then live off the income.

Think CTY has been the better fund over that time.

Certainly in recent history crashes have thrown up some excellent buying opportunities. The key is to buy quality that has fallen with the market.

The area that I feel is susceptible to a crash right now is some of the ridiculous valuations given too tech stocks that make little if any profit.

Like that portfolio.

I own CQS Henderson Far East and Merchants of course and have considered a couple on your list.

You also make some great points.

Been in the game over 30 years and if I have learnt one thing its if you want to make money quickly in the market you take the risk of losing it quickly too.

You might do well out of the odd high risk investment or leveraged product but more often than not your luck will not last.

Spreading risk, diversity and taking a long term view is much more likely to lead to success and there are numerous studies that confirm this.

Some of my families money was invested in Woodfords SJP funds and the performance has been dire.Just shows you pay them sky high fees to look after your investment and they can not see what nearly everyone else saw coming till it was too late.

Agreed. Better to buy on a discount, but its always worth watching.

The yield on these are fine, but little in the way of capital growth. I own quite a few of these, but my favourite property holding is TR Property Investment Trust PLC. Good yield and capital growth.
