Yes, Minerve, most of us do, in spite of our differences. You also have a good weekend, and come back refreshed, ready for further conflict.

Now come on now. Why can’t we all just get along? I’ve set you all a good example today.

Minny says "many just want fairness". Would that be the kind of fairness that says "fair enough, the people voted for Brexit so we should really get on and actually implement it"??

MEANWHILE Actually I think many just want fairness and better equality. I guess it depends on what you define as 'their own'. I'm tired of excessive greed. Unfortunately we will not have the freedoms you think we will have. Sovereignty is a pipe dream. As soon as you trade with others you give away a little bit of sovereignty. Do you think the US will not apply pressure on us to do certain things in certain ways, just like the EU? The difference is the US will be driven predominantly by the plutocrats and the corporates. At least with the EU you do get a greater sense of 'for the benefit of everyone'. Of course that is too 'left' for some. Elected officials elected other officials. That is better than allowing a small percentage of the electorate to vote for PM. One would hope the elected officials do have something about them and have achieved their positions mostly through merit. I know that isn't always the case. However, anyone can be a Tory member - or a Labour member for that matter. I personally believe that if a PM resigns that should automatically force a GE. It isn't right now and it wasn't right when Gordon Brown stepped in. Many people vote on the leader and what they say and perhaps don't even read the manifesto. I am one of the sad few that generally read all three/four.

Minerve, What does anyone ever want out of anything? Answer, benefit for themselves and their own. And we do all understand that this is exactly what is going on, and always has gone on. Brexiteers just want the freedom to do these things across the world rather than in the EU backwater. The PM at least was voted in by 90,000. Nobody knows how the new EU president, Ursula von der Leyen, got in but it wasn't by a democratic vote.

Well said eipgam. What is the point Brexiters fighting for democracy and sovereignty when they are prepared to prorogue parliament, vote a PM in on 90,000 votes from white, wealthy geriatrics, ditch the manifesto, and look towards the US for orders and politic funding? This should, if you have some intelligence, raise eyebrows at the very least. What do the US sponsors want out of this? What does Banks and his sponsors want out of this? If you are half-clued-up on world affairs you would understand what is going on.

If legitimate questioning from Mishal Husain about bare faced lies, opportunistic volte-face manoeuvres, and all sorts of other imbecilic and immoral behaviour can be likened to Lord Haw Haw's broadcasts, then I don't know what planet some other people are on! Politics and the future of our country is not a game that can be treated as if it is a game taking place in quadrangle at Eton, after the senior boys milk race and before evensong. It's serious... and we should not / can not be depending on half witted proven liars such asthe likes of Boris Johnson, who were not elected to their current high office by anyone other than 92,000 conservative party members, to make things better.

The BBC might be expected to be quite slow in adopting the new positive, optimistic attitude towatds the UK that Boris Johnson's government is promoting. They certainly show no signs as yet. On BBC 4's Today programme, Mishal Husain's key question to the U.S. Ambassador related to an adverse comment made by Boris on Donald Trump's character in 2015. The Ambassador suggested that she should be asking more positive questions of him. I suppose it's for the Director General Lord Haw Haw to feed down this more positive, and less trivial, attitude but since it has no obvious relationship to operatic matters, I expect we'll wait in vain.

GKN POWDER METALLURGY OPENS HYDROGEN STORAGE-BASED RESIDENTIAL HOME Inaugurated with an Opening Day event at the 13th of July 2019, GKN Powder Metallurgy has officially unlocked the doors on its first self-sustaining residential home in the South Tyrolian Alps. Away from any public power grid, the 300-year old home operates on a CO2-free energy supply system providing locally generated energy from renewables. As regional and national leaders in the South Tyrol area stress the importance of independent and CO2 emission-free energy systems, the energy storage system – using metal powder at its core to safely and compactly hold hydrogen as its energy source – comes at a crucial time. A self-sustaining energy management system How can green energy be used around the clock, when typical energy generating sources such as sun, wind and water are not consistently available? To solve this natural resource problem, clean energy needs to be stored in an efficient and sustainable system: Hy2Green. Hy2Green, GKN Powder Metallurgy‘s long-anticipated energy storage system, presented its first zero emission heat and power generator. Following its target goal, the system creates green energy from regenerative sources, stores it and provides electrical power and heat when needed – all in a local ecosystem with no emissions other than water and oxygen. To create Hy2Green’s metal hydride base, GKN Powder Metallurgy combines the dense and stable chemical connection of hydrogen with iron metal. The energy can be stored safely over an extended period of time in a controlled environment without any loss; a vital resource with no connection to public power grids. Hy2Green system, metal hydride storage, flow chart - Collage with 3 imagesHy2Green system - left upper image, Modular metal hydride storage - right upper image, Flow chart of energy management system A system focused on safety, compaction and sustainability Quickly explained, here is how the Hy2Green concept works: Hydrogen is generated in the electrolyzer unit, powered by a regenerative energy source and fed into storage tanks filled with metal powder. The hydrogen bonds to the metal particles to form metal hydride. Through simple temperature adjustments, the hydrogen is released to a fuel cell and through the fuel cell is converted back to electrical power. It all comes down to size and sustainability: the Hy2Green system need 20 times less space for the same amount of energy at the same pressure rate compared to gaseous hydrogen storage systems. The system works at the safe pressure rate of only 30 bars, as standard storages for gaseous hydrogen run at pressures up to 800 bars. At the opening event, Peter Oberparleiter, CEO GKN Powder Metallurgy, stressed the importance of the 100% recyclable hydrogen storage system’s sustainability: ‘A dividing factor against other systems is our use of iron metal and titanium, which is available in vast amounts compared to lithium being used for modern researchable battery storages. The life expectancy of our metal-hydride based Hy2green storage lays at approximately at 10 years, opposed to the three-year lifespan for an electric battery storage.”

Good day today for Britain. United cabinet again. Boris has already got some senior EU officials signalling there could be some movement on the Withdrawal Agreement. Optimism prevails. I'm expecting a big cut in VAT as soon as we've got the shackles off on 01 November.

It's been a day of great progress, with Boris Johnson bringing us the opportunity to be positive about the future and to chart our own progress. Since the conditions aren't yet in place for full anarchy, this offers the next best thing. This is another major blow for the BBC. Look out for the 'Point of Inflection' in their attitude to brexit, as they see the need to begin support for the position of their viewing public. The small advance in MRO towards my 'Wallet Photo Trigger Point', is an additional positive of the day.
