12/5/2019 17:34 | Sorry to disappoint you. LOL | minerve 2
12/5/2019 17:28 | If you really are celebrating then ask yourself these 5 questions: - would Man City be celebrating if they'd finished second? - would Man Utd be celebrating if they'd finished second? - would Barca be celebrating if they'd finished second? - would Real Madrid be celebrating if they'd finished second? - would Bayern Munich be celebrating if they'd finished second? The answer to all 5 is clearly 'No way!' So either you're lying or you're very easily pleased! Or maybe just a born loser?? And by the way, I was in a pub with over 50 Liverpool fans just now, and they were definitely not celebrating anything at the end!! | gettingrichslow
12/5/2019 17:20 | getting I AM CELEBRATING! It has been a fantastic season. Man City win today was pretty much already on the cards. How can I not have had a good football week watching my side thrash Barca 4-0 in the greatest Champions League comeback of all time? What wasn't predictable is Cardiff beating Man U 2:0 at Old Trafford. Guffaw guffaw. They have their work cut-out for next season. LOL | minerve 2
12/5/2019 16:49 | Oh dear. Liverpool have thrown away another title!! Ho ho ho. Is that 30 years in a row now? Sorry but it's easy to lose count. Maybe we should start counting in decades 😂😂 A bit of advice from someone who knows better - you'd be better off sticking to the swimming than football or investing Porky!! | gettingrichslow
12/5/2019 11:36 | Yes, Premier League football clubs are now largely staffed and managed by overseas talent and increasingly owned by foreign investors. This is no different to the companies comprising the FTSE-100 -- particularly in ownership where a very significant majority of FTSE-100 shares are owned by foreign institutions and investors. Including MRO. What would happen to our nest eggs if they weren't there? | ryelodge
11/5/2019 21:53 | getting, I have a little question for you tonight :- Do the chairs in your parlour seem empty and bare? Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again? Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight? | meanwhile
11/5/2019 21:29 | I think my local school just won their local league. I think they are 10 levels below National League South. Amazing stuff eh? This is what you discuss when your local area has no top-class football. | minerve 2
11/5/2019 21:22 | B+, haven't Tonbridge been promoted to the National League South which is two levels below League Two? | gettingrichslow
11/5/2019 20:34 | We were at a party His earlobe fell in the deep Someone reached in and grabbed it It was a rock lobster Rock lobster! Rock lobster! | minerve 2
11/5/2019 18:59 | Yertiz Invitation accepted. I hope we get Exeter; Sarries awesome!!! | brexitplus
11/5/2019 18:39 | Well done, but as you go up, Argyle will go down.... If it were to happen, I'll take you along to the Theatre of Greens | yertiz
11/5/2019 18:16 | A brilliant day. Tonbridge Angels promoted to the National League, the league below Division Two of the Football League. We’ll be playing Plymouth Argyle in a season or two with luck. | brexitplus
11/5/2019 13:23 | So we judge whether people deserve decent retirement purely based on how much money they make for themselves and certain others? Ever thought this 'vehicle' is more about wealth transfer than wealth creation? Duh. | minerve 2
10/5/2019 20:30 | Old french wine, it is. Some bottles are sure to be off. | meanwhile
10/5/2019 18:02 | Aggressive? That looks like further evidence that you do indeed live in a cotton-wool world Meanwhile! Man-up for goodness sake! | gettingrichslow
10/5/2019 17:12 | ryelodge, Excuse tournesol's aggressive attitude. He drinks a lot of French wine. | meanwhile
10/5/2019 16:53 | Questiontime last evening was at its most entertaining, quelled somewhat by Ms Bruce. Anna Soubry didn't know where to hide after Nigel had tongue lashed her, poor little mare. Fiona needs to learn when to back off when the fighting starts, otherwise it could have been a bloody night. Lol. | yertiz
10/5/2019 14:34 | tournesol I gather you are talking about David Roper. A very shrewd operator. I agree, at 69 it is a good idea to plan retirement and enjoy life. I will when I am anywhere near 69. I spoke to a friend today who is 70. He doesn't look anything like it. A senior man involved with the military (not an operational serviceman), he retired a few years ago. He told me that he took on some consultancy and found it as pressurised as when he was working full time, so he packed it in. Now he is away on regular holidays and enjoys himself to the full. I hope David Roper does the same. He has worked bloody hard and made lots of people, including himself, lots of money. | brexitplus
10/5/2019 14:25 | RyelodgeThe man is 69.. Dont you think the market might have realised his retirement is imminent? And before you start whinging, has it occurred to you that he might well be retiring for health reasons?Give him and us a break. | tournesol
10/5/2019 12:52 | Oh Christ he's talking to himself again! Can someone call nurse?? | gettingrichslow
10/5/2019 12:04 | Well, ryelodge, the vote was close so such a disclosure could have changed the result. On the other hand, the 3 greed-ridden directors are all near retirement age so any loss, planned or otherwise, was always a good possibility. | meanwhile
10/5/2019 11:25 | If it had been disclosed to the Market that Roper would leave within 24 months of the completion of the GKN acquisition, and be a Lame Duck for 12 months of that period, would the deal have got approved by shareholders? | ryelodge |
