03/8/2018 11:07 | Good post MEANWHILE. Nobody has thought about applying this wonderful Melrose model to mops. | minerve
03/8/2018 10:59 | My wife bought a new mop & bucket yesterday, (for the cats' room) using a small fraction of the gains from Melrose's rights Issue for the purchase of Nortek. I think I've detailed these gains previously so no need to go into that again. Developments in mop technology have obviously been slow. The mop is still a stick with many strands of string attached to the end. Other versions use cloth instead of string, not a major variation. The whole technology needs investment, in my opinion. Could Melrose be interested in such a clear opportunity? A quick entry would be to buy a company such as Vileda, pump in R&D expenditure and develop the 'Melrose supermop'. This would bolster 'sentiment' and give the Directors 'skin in the game' (the household products game). I have enough credit in this world, and don't seek more. However, for those still clearly seeking it, brexitplus, goingdownhill, yertiz etc. please feel free to write to the Melrose board suggesting this idea and the credit will be all yours. | meanwhile
03/8/2018 09:35 | It'll be alright in the end, won't it lovely? LOL Put the kettle on chuck. | minerve
03/8/2018 09:30 | Case proved. Ha ha. Back like a shot as expected. Heel boy!!! | brexitplus
03/8/2018 09:26 | LOL What a beautiful example of a Little Englander he is, almost perfect. | minerve
02/8/2018 22:52 | Rolls Royce up 7%. Good day today. And it is great to know I am missed here when I am out spoiling my gorgeous GF. Yes, gettingrichNEVER will NEVER get rich. He isn't clever enough. | minerve
02/8/2018 22:39 | The cats like tinned sardines, preferably in oil. Gettingdown, you're an imbecile. | meanwhile
02/8/2018 22:30 | It is very funny, yes. And then we've got Beetle Juice who is clearly actually Minerve and only appears when Minerve has been on the absinthe and embarrassed himself... | gettingrichslow
02/8/2018 21:31 | Getting why would you think RL is MW when he has only posted 4 times and all on MRO. So funny. Do you think the Pontypridd cycle business has gone bust yet? | brexitplus
02/8/2018 21:15 | Ryelodge, let's have one of your 'calculations'! How's Snowdonia? | gettingrichslow
02/8/2018 21:03 | When the seagulls follow the trawler it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. | ryelodge
02/8/2018 18:14 | Losos Do you agree that minerve is so incredibly predictable? It’s that last word again!! Ha ha. | brexitplus
02/8/2018 15:11 | Why can't we all just 'get along'. Now, just come on now. | meanwhile
02/8/2018 13:50 | Sorry Losos, spoke too soon. Three wickets down. Hoping for more. | brexitplus
02/8/2018 12:45 | Brexitplus does try hard. Ha Ha. Must try harder. | minerve
02/8/2018 12:38 | "Melrose model becoming widespread, with Senior using a similar approach." First, Melrose don't own the model. Don't talk as if they do. The PE model has been around for decades. They have created nothing. Second, methods may sometimes be the same but the motives, objectives and aspirations can be completely different. Nuances mean everything in this game. Learn to read them. ;) | minerve
02/8/2018 12:03 | Hi Losos My finance director seems to enjoy the challenge of trying to sort out poor managers even though she has no need to work ever again. It’s only two days a week but very well paid so will enhance our lifestyle, ie. more steak and wine. Otherwise she’s working with two charities. Glad Casey and Lara are enjoying a kip. Agree about the plums. I do a very good plum clafoutis. Please send some. Need a couple of quick wickets in the test. 12.27 At last a wicket!!! 12.30 a second wicket. Great day getting better. Glad to say m concentrating on Lloyds today. | brexitplus
02/8/2018 09:01 | In the engineers, BAE results underwhelming while Rolls Royce up on restructuring and cutting costs. RR interims presentation shows three aspects of restructuring and operation 1 Significantly reduced central costs 2 Empowered businesses, more control of own costs 3 Shared vision and clear accountability To do this they say they need to 1 Drive out unnecessary costs 2 Remove complex & duplicative processes 3 Develop a real performance culture 4 Create ownership behaviour Sounds familiar. Melrose model becoming widespread, with Senior using a similar approach. Re Rolls Royce, a lot of rubbish has been said about the Melrose directors not being experienced in Aero and Auto. Just looking at Warren East’s CV, I see that his previous experience was at Texas Instruments and ARM Holdings. Hmmm. | brexitplus
01/8/2018 21:11 | You, Meanwhile! Is it time for one of your 'calculations' yet? It's been a while. | gettingrichslow
01/8/2018 20:45 | “Remind you of anyone?” My wife tells me that one of the various personality traits exhibited by a narcissist is they accuse others of their own weaknesses. It’s quite clear to see from the sequence of posts who always wants to have the last word. | meanwhile |
