B+ Ref post 3526 so 'admission to trading' is really shorthand for 'admission to trading of new MRO shares' all fully understood now, thanks. (To be fair I suppose if I had seen the entire RNS I might have got it haha !)

I will be attending a much awaited funeral tomorrow at which time I expect notices to be handed out to leave to the cup cake baking sorority who, I understand, will be returning to their gardening leave in France.
Any cup cakes served will be discarded as not fit for purpose in line with their bakers’ competence.
I await the resurrection on the 21st May with hope (that much maligned word).

Melrose are giving 1.69 new Melrose shares for each GKN share. These shares are not yet in the market, and as yet do not exist. On creation they have to be admitted to the market for trading purposes.

I would like to know what 'admission to trading' means in the context of MRO's recent announcement which you kindly posted above.

Getting. Do you think Phil Swash, head of Driveline will head up Aero in the new organisation? He was previously Aero and would provide a good interface with customers and politically.

Do you think he may be offered a Melrose directorship?

For me it seems eminently sensible, particularly as he played no obvious major part during the acquisition and is a GKN board director.

Getting. I do prefer good old Chelsea Buns, Lemmon Drizzle Cakes or Eccles Cakes, although I do bake a very moist French Almond Cake for fund raising. Cup cakes to my mind are something and nothing which strangely accurately describes Anne Stevens.

B+ Ref post 3512 Can you explain something for me. I totaly understand the 'cancellation of listing' bit but the statement then goes on to talk about 'admission to trading' ???? If GKN is no longer on any stock exchange where and with whom are these shares to be traded.

Cancelation of listing and admission to trading sound like a contradiction in terms to me haha but then what do I know :-)

Update on Offer acceptances and anticipated cancellation of listing and trading of GKN Shares

As at 3.00 p.m. on 16 April 2018 Melrose had received acceptances of its Offer in respect of 1,406,130,769 GKN Shares, representing approximately 81.80 per cent. of the voting rights of GKN. Consequently, once the Offer has been declared wholly unconditional by 19 April 2018, Melrose intends to procure that GKN applies to the London Stock Exchange for the cancellation of the trading of GKN Shares on its main market for listed securities and the UKLA will be requested to cancel the listing of GKN Shares on the Official List.

The cancellation of listing and admission to trading of GKN Shares on the Official List and Main Market respectively is expected to take effect on or around 21 May 2018, being 20 Business Days from the date on which the Offer is expected to become wholly unconditional. Such cancellation of listing and admission to trading will significantly reduce the liquidity and marketability of any GKN Shares not assented to the Offer.

If you like unspoilt areas, wilderness, away from tourists, you can't find better than in the west USA, in the Rocky Mountains. Buena Vista, Colorado, where we have our place is a small town, 8000 feet elevation, the sun shines all year but it's dry air and never hot, 80s in mid summer but cool at night and can get down to freezing even in July.
The town's in the Arkansas river valley, by the Collegiate Peaks, which rise over 14,000 feet and in complete wilderness.

Get your camper van in the USA and cruise around the west states. We had a few trips doing that.

Just to let everyone know I have spent the day planting my seeds for vegetables and flowers in pots/modules.

We grow quite a lot of our own veg which saves on air miles. Likewise all of our meat is local and flour for sourdough bread is milled locally. Our local pub has its own micro brewery and brews currently six beers. Cider is also local.

Local cheeses, including both Single and Double Gloucester, are delicious, as is local venison from a deer park four miles away.

Come to glorious Gloucestershire for the best of British. And none of it from the Cotswolds!!!
