Building firms and engineering companies are going back to work. Plenty of work to crack on with once the workers are back in after their furloughed holidays :-)

I've just doubled up on this one.

Been in and out of these - with a modest profit. I believe we may test and breach the mid March lows Waiting for a lower entry point For the long term +/- 10% entry point - got to be worth considering DYOR

I am looking for a strong bounce here. Bought a few last week for my SIPP. No rush for it to get back back up over a fiver ;-)

Global workforce reduced by 15%.. and accessing furlough schemes.. mitigating reduced demand. Stock price down 60% this year. Only about 2,500 employed in the UK, the remaining 10,000 plus overseas, mostly in the US. What does the balance sheet and debt level look like?

Analysts at Citi reiterated their 'buy' recommendation for shares of aerospace and defence subsystems manufacturer Meggitt, telling clients that markets were too downbeat on long-term growth in the sector and the company's competitive position.
Although they cut their 2020 forecast for air traffic growth by half and projecting "a greater societal impact of 10% below the long-term trend", they estimated that markets were discounting further drops in traffic beyond 2020 from those already depressed levels.

frndlyfire,

I haven't bought in yet, I am sitting on my hands waiting for the moment, always watching though.

As you said, with the director buying, it looks a great opportunity. Although the airline industry is getting hit hard.

I was waiting for a higher high, but we didn't get it. We got the higher low, so I will continue watching, a close above the 20 and I might jump in.

It is very quiet on here, thats usually a good sign.

I'd have thought this thread would be more active. Seems a bargain at these prices given their tech, LT order book and balance sheet. Also a fair bit of insider buying.

Yes they'll be some orders getting cancelled, but that seems well in the price to me.

I bought today. What did you end up doing abacus?

domesday, is this the only Meggitt thread?

Nothing is ever said, but the company looks good.

Came here after, as you said, the director buy.

10/03/20 BUY Sir Nigel Rudd CH 100,000 @ 485.92p £485,920

He only holds 250k shares, bought at much higher prices.

Any good info, before I do my research?

Went down well...

Footsie-listed defence firm Meggitt was trading 1.7 per cent, or 10.6p, higher at 621.4p after it signed a £39million deal to supply equipment to the US Army.

Meggitt restructuring accelerates revenue growth

IC View

Meggitt’s transformation into a customer-facing business is proving beneficial for the top line. But there is a long way to go before this converts into better margins and then, more importantly, reliable cash flows. At a forward price/earnings ratio of 17 times, we’re happy to hold.

Last IC View: Hold, 544p, 26 Feb 2019

Looks a though may take a hit from the Boeing Max problems however less than 1% of last year's revenues depending on how long to resolve the problem - If lasts a long as September reported could be 0.3% of last year's revenue but (imo) knock on unknown.

My broker friend who has a smaller boat than mine tells me that 2019 is going to be a year for companies that have real tangible assets and the ability to make a profit.
I am in RR, MRO through GKN and got stopped out of Cobham. MGGT has been a long term hold lets hope my broker friend is correct. I would have a bit more confidence in his money making if he had a bigger boat the I have. :-)

Good to see a comment on this indolent board, jackdaw. MGGT had seemed to weather the storm well until today and I am not clear as to the fall except to say that the markets are unpredictable. Perhaps related to the US fall though I will be advised.
