07/6/2009 21:15 | next leg up? | slevene
07/5/2009 09:30 | where is everyone! watching cooksons cksn, word is foseco doing ok,might even take on staff as cost cutting went to far? specialist ceramics don't seem affected by downturn, | mike24
02/4/2009 11:17 | We will see, the market for MGGT has been affected by rights issue concerns to reduce debt, Cooksons did, but I doubt we will, massive cost savings will kick in due to scale backs and lay offs 50m being the sum soon. | walker10
02/4/2009 10:58 | Bought a wedge at 126 the other day (been in and out of MGGT for years, usually do OK!). Here looks a cracking place for a significant rally though. | machoolahan
01/4/2009 10:34 | Shares in Meggitt soared 12 per cent at one point on Tuesday as investors shrugged off fears over the group's financial position. Last year's results were backed by lower net debt and a new cost-cutting programme. Meggitt has ample headroom in terms of its covenants, with net debt to earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of 2.4 times against a banking covenant of 3.5 times. The general outlook remains uncertain but the stock is trading on an unambitious price/earnings ratio of 4.6 times 2009 earnings. PE of 4.6 unambitious is an understatement aint it !!! | walker10
20/3/2009 16:47 | will this hit 160p before profit taking kicks in? | sleveen
03/3/2009 08:26 | Decent set of resultsand relatively good outlook statement. | sleveen
02/3/2009 10:31 | just waiting for dow to touch the bottom over next few wks then one a hellava bounce dyor | mike24
27/11/2008 19:20 | Added Apart from the D B, MACD is showing that selling pressure is running out and going +ve, however in these times one can throw the book away. I see these as a long term hold and the weak £ must help our exporters one would think. | finess
26/11/2008 15:35 | Yes I thought that, need to average but it goes against what the book says. | finess
24/11/2008 19:44 | Nice double bottom forming. | werock
31/10/2008 13:58 | ..... I think they need to go carefully, and in particular don't make any more takeovers. Keep heads down and generate cash. Agreed | sleveen
31/10/2008 13:56 | I agree, but I think they need to go carefully, and in particular don't make any more takeovers. Keep heads down and generate cash. Just IMHO. I'm holding. | bigbertie
31/10/2008 08:02 | Key Points from today's IMS: The financial position of the Group is strong and is substantially unchanged Meggitt has recently renegotiated the terms of a $500m bank facility, extending the maturity from May 2010 to May 2013, following which no new financing will be required before March 2012. The profit impact of the reduction in the civilfleet and of the Boeing strike will be largely mitigated by the recent strengthening of the US dollar. The Board is confident of delivering further growth in the second half of 2008 and reiterates that Meggitt remains on track to deliver full year results in line with its expectations. Dare I say this stock is very oversold. IMHO. | sleveen
26/10/2008 21:31 | BTW IMS this Friday | sleveen
26/10/2008 11:29 | I'm amazed at the depth of the share price fall. EF by "extended outwards" do you mean new banking facilities have been arranged and the debt has been rescheduled over a longer period? | sleveen
25/10/2008 17:36 | Any news on this one ? General market malaise but MGGT will make profits this year. Only concern is the level of debt, but i hear this has already been extended outwards. | emmaflynn
28/8/2008 20:22 | Early days but appears to be trending up nicely. I presume dollar earnings will be enhanced given dollar strength. Still nervous but feeling a tad more comfortable (now watch it tank!) | redm1re
10/8/2008 20:37 | Thanks Sleveen Does look good but keeping my investments small and liquid at the moment. Will prob take a small stake shortly but share the concerns expressed earlier about the looming donwturn in the aviation sector. Also feel the market is due another leg down soon, perhaps to some new lows As seems usual now the oil price will dictate how the airline market plays out So caution is my watchword right now Also been having a look at SNR | redm1re
10/8/2008 19:05 | Thanks Marelli keep us posted on how busy your unit is, which one by the way? I thnk 350p will be easily reached. | sleveen
10/8/2008 18:50 | PS. Nick Cunningham works for Evolution Securities. Cheers. | marelli
10/8/2008 18:49 | Nick Cunningham (Aerospace "expert analyst") has reduced his target to 105p, this is after the results. He expects the downturn to be much worse than any since the second world war with a fall of 11% in airline traffic next year, He may be right or He may be barking mad who knows. However, Credit Suisse has a long term target of 350p! I must declare an interest as I work for Meggitt, the business unit that I work for has never been so busy, this could of course change. I have sold half of my holding to reinvest elseware and shall be participating in the sharesave scheme(starting next month)for the minimum of three years, if the price is not 350p by then I shall eat my hat. Check out Terry Twiggers "pod cast" on the Meggitt website he is very bullish and I hope he is right. | marelli
10/8/2008 18:03 | Don't dip a toe .....Fill your boots MGGT seems to be an unsung hero of the aerospace ector (I bought a tad too early @ 255p on th way down) falling knives blah blah | sleveen
10/8/2008 16:54 | Only one comment on what appear onthe face of it to be a good set of results. Tempted to dip a toe in here and sort of encouraged by this being a quiet board too Is there anyone else out there? | redm1re |
