In the money very nicely now on these, but I'm letting them run. Funding will as ever be the crucial factor and JV, but seem to have good licenses.

DESIRE PETROLEUM has 2-3 billion oil in place that not been drill at all in the past - has market cap of more than £50m. MDL gas 1.5 billion barrel oil in place and M-Sela has been drilled in the past produce more than 1000bopd. Who do you think has a good value???

Not a bad response for seemingly newsless interims, or is there something I'm missing.
Reserves!

I would like to think that would be the case labatie. Not much more to go on than we knew at the AGM unfortunatley, except for the upgrade in reserves, which we were expecting to be honest! Would have been nice to have had a bit more news on the farm in, and maybe to have had at least one of the other licences sorted out, but, hey ho..... A few more bored holders may be tempted to sell out today. I don't think todays RNS is going to encourage lots of buying, but what do I know.............................

Leaving aside the main Louza prospect, where the co already said the reserves estimate wd remain the same, there's an increase of just under a quarter for the rest of the prospects, which must be encouraging, not least in the searh for farm-in. For the rest, dare one say that the next six months could see some/many/all of MDL's present loose strings being tied up?

Had missed this,

" The Company has engaged Merlin to review the results of our interpretation of
the new 3D seismic data and to provide an updated analysis of its hydrocarbon
prospectivity "

What a wizard idea.. magic!

Thanx - that must explain it - nearly 1,000,000 shares traded since start of Jun - looks like news could be on the way with these interims.

This paragraph was taken from the AGM RNS in April.

The Company has engaged Merlin to review the results of our interpretation of
the new 3D seismic data and to provide an updated analysis of its hydrocarbon
prospectivity. We plan to report on this to Shareholders when completed -
possibly at the time of the Company's interim results in mid 2007. In the
meantime we are actively seeking potential farm-in partners to participate in a
drilling programme planned to commence in 2008, subject to jack-up rig
availability.

Interim results are due but I am not sure of extact date.

All I can find is a reference to Mid 2007 - is that End of June?

The 50/- @ 19.5 is a sale, so perhaps we have a lumpy buyer @ 20

Dodman. I agree with you about yesterday's movement. Indeed, the share price as been behaving really quite strangely for the last few wks. Since the middle of May there have been purchases of C400/- against sales of C100/-, yet the price has shown no inclination to do anything except drift down. Yes there is a shortage of news at present and the mkt is always tight, but unless there is a steady and wholly unreported seller, it doesn't really add up. I was a jobber in the dim & distant, and we used to work on the basis that if there were more buyers than sellers, the price went up!

PS - is anyone else following this new fuel story? Skeptics are saying it's essentially Brown's Gas but interest seems solid.
