Thank you for the detailed description. As always the dividend yield is exceptionally good and it makes the 0.5% rate I get on the savings account look very sick.

this was covered in the placing announcement on 2nd feb...

"The Directors expect, subject to unforeseen circumstances, to pay dividends totalling 5.5p per Ordinary Share in respect of the financial year ending 30 September 2011. The first interim dividend in respect of that financial year of 1.375p per Ordinary Share will be payable on 31 March 2011 to those holders of Ordinary Shares recorded on the register of members of the Company on 18 February 2011."

so dividend for last qtr 2010 will be 1.375p payable on 31st march (ex-div 18th feb).

directors expect to pay 5.5p full year which at the placing price of 72p gives a gross yield of 7.6% prior to any associated costs.

NOTE - new shares under placing will not qualify for march div payment but will for june payment.

don't currently hold but have subscribed. seems like a good enough entry point and able to pick some up in volume easier than on the open market.

You are right topvest. With a pe of 11.41 it is no longer cheap but the rise of the eps to 6.40 pence/share from a negative value looks most encouraging. Of course the attractive aspect of this share is the dividend yield.

Bought some of these today. Looks quite well positioned. Not cheap any more so missed the boat a bit, but not expensive either.

With interest rates remaining at 0.5%, the current yield on this share is an absolute winner.

The large number of small 'AT' buy trades being made today must mean something but what that is, is a mystery to me.

Entirely agree cnx - this is a long time hold. However I am convinced that this share will appreciate significantly due to the importance all the political parties and the general public give to health matters.

sp creeping up steadily.................in someways a pity as i try to buy this under 71p..........if i sell now in the hope of buying back under 71p the share price will be 80p in 3 months!!

this is a long term income hold for me

Just rechecked Barclays forecast for 2010 and 2011...the dividend forecast of 5.33 for 2010 has now been removed

Can someone explain why the company is paying a dividend. The consolidated income statement shows a loss, so dividends are being paid out of cash reserves?? Even if you exclude the valuation impairment costs their is a small loss after tax...am I missing something here

the drop is more than the dividend of 1.35p. so for dividend seekers the yield has increased a little

how has the pre budget announcement affected these nhs facilities providers eg ash?

The fall in the share price was presumably due to the share going XD. Its also interesting that the number 'trades' are increasing.

AO - As you imply, it is going to be a long haul. The share price did go down to 57p at one time but it has certainly recovered from that level. We can but wait and watch
