Where did you get 98.51% from?

These lot add up to just over 31m which is a bit under 85%

And as some are nominee holders does that not mean that it is regular punters lumped into one holder? (i.e. most retail punters hold stock via a nominee account)

Well it explains a lot: the wide spread, the apparent good value, and the lack of interest from punters. The fear is that they could give up their market quote completely and leave us all in the lurch.

Anyone noticed that the shareholder information has been updated on their website?.....

Now 98.51% not in public hands!! So only 1.49% for us to play with! This seems crazy low, any thoughts?

Sibanye now has full control of West Rand tailings after buying out Gold One. Results from MDM's pre-feasibility study next month. Also notice, if anyone still interested, that Sedgman's results out yesterday.

Crikey they have really widened the spread here, really not keen to let it go...

Any thoughts anybody?

edit

Well spoke too soon, they've finally let it go a little

I am trying to set up a results presentation with these guys for September/October so hopefully they will get a bit more attention and we can get to understand the business in more detail.
Alternatively an all expenses paid trip to Monaco for the Agm will be fine.lol

No offence taken re: Leyland. I'm a consultant so only there a few months anyway. I guess you were either at the Leyland Hotel or possibly Lancashire FA.

it_trader,

No offence to Leyland but davidosh and I were involved (expensively!) with a company which was so unkeen to communicate with shareholders - and with good reason - that it called its AGM at 9.30am on a Monday in Leyland. We're Londoners. We did prevail on them to defer until 11am, I think, but it was still a bit of a haul. But Monaco would be worth the effort!

Would be very interested in any views on the low (c.3%)free float? Is this a potential problem? I am relatively new in the investing world and trying to learn quickly! Any opinions on the potential problems (or benefits)would be gratefully received.

I totally agree Jeffian. It would be great to meet management and get a feel for why the deal earlier in the year fell away though. I also have questions about the business and the last results plus prospects going forward but the Agm appears to be held in Monaco and is scheduled for the 7th September.

As the company is listed here I have requested a meeting for UK shareholders in September or would like to get them to one of my Mello meetings to present to a large group of investors within the next month or so as they will go into a closed period at the end of September ahead of the interims.

I think MDM will be well off the radar of most investors.

No spillover from the KENZ bid yet but this is so cheap it must be on someone's radar once there is M&A activity in the sector.

Can't do a screen grab but it is 1v1 at current spread then 2v2 at 125v135 below that with 1 at both 122 & 138.

Hope that makes sense?
