Ok folks, I have been selling.

Highlighted these when the price was 54p. Stock closed at 68p yesterday and is currently trading at 67p. That's a near 25% move in no time. You can't sniff at moves like that in a tricky market like this.

Well done to others who bought in too.

Hope it keeps going higher for the holders.

Nipped in for a few here.

Interesting that Gilead Capital building a stake - activism on the cards?

Game changer with the stock already absolutely hammered valuation wise?

I thought 100p was cheap just a few months ago, it's not that far off achieving 100p on recovery this time.

Looks like it's been oversold to me as profitability is still forecast to be strong, despite slipping, just needs some overheads tweeking perhaps and some new direction/ideas/guidance from the boardroom.

A few director buys reported late yesterday, nothing in notable size though. Still, up another 10% - cracking move.

Ive never been so right, correctly predicting 50p as a target a year ago, and also vole face recently urging to buy at 50p.

I do get some of these right.

And make money!!!

Lovely.

Why do the professional market experts get it so wrong?

Ill let you ponder that.

I know the answer.

Making progress. A little bit slower than expected when I highlighted these a few posts back on Gilead taking a stake.

Trying to go vertical though. Moving well in a very tricky wider market. Hard to be long many stocks at the moment. One of the few that are managing to push higher.

There "appears" to be a 293,000 Non Exec director buy too.

"On 7 October 2019 McBride plc (the Company) was notified that Teleios Capital Partners LLC purchased 293,900 ordinary shares of 10 pence each."

Gonna dump into this spike. Been a nice little trade this. Wider market is a train wreck waiting to happen with all the poor economic data of late.

Credit

OK...I am not really interested in the classification...everything has to be put somewhere :)

You are right about ULVR, I have lots of them indirectly. ULVR has brands, those brands are invested in and that makes switching less likely and supports pricing. I dont think MCB has a moat

marksp2011, MCB under sector analysis is in the Defensives sector in Stockopedia, it also the same with my broker it is defined as a defensive sector. The product is defensive it's what people buy rain or shine - oven cleaner, water softner, dishwasher tablets, washing powders. You can't get more defensive than that. White goods are goods like the actual washing machine, the dishwasher, the microwave they don't sell those. There's a difference white goods are cyclical, defensives are not. If you look at Unilever it is actually made up of smaller companies that are known brands in their own right selling defensive product, but come under the parent owned Unilver.

Institutional buyer more than doubled stake to 12%.

Just wondering if this was via the market as I did notice significant buying earlier this month which prompted me to buy a few just in case.

Crunchies

To be a consumer defensive it needs brand power or some other form of moat. It doesnt have these - it is a white label producer.

Any company that puts out a profit warning the day before the results isn't in control as it cant have effective management accounting.

cheers again CreditCrunchies,

I think the unlisted B shares might be redeemed directly by the company on request. Until they are redeemed they are perhaps effectively a low interest loan from shareholders? I'm just guessing, trying to reason with the point of issuing them.

I'm interested to buy more MCB, but will await signs of some determined corporate action to turn things around. This feels like the bottom as long as we don't get news of further deterioration in trading. Hopefully they will at least meet the expectation going forward as they stated in the results and then hopefully start improving again.

It does make you wonder why they give you unlisted shares though this is the only listed company I've known so far that does this. If they're unlisted how do you sell them?
