28/12/2012 17:31 | Everywhere sells birdfood - even the guy over the road to me has started his own part time business selling it via the internet with free local delivery. Flying Brands knew the writing was on the wall withg birdseed and they aren't the sharpest pins in the box. This stock is for sado-masochists only imo. CR | cockneyrebel
28/12/2012 16:20 | I am not sure that there is a business. They say that the core business is Windsong and bird food. Windsong declined by a third and was barely profitable at the operating level. The garden businesses were doing £6m annually when they bought them and now they appear to be doing £2m annually. I don't suppose anyone reading this board buys more bird food than I do. IMV it is difficult to see a postal business model working as it can be bought much cheaper from shops. As for changing management TA owns, or has control, of 40% of the shares. I don't think those turkeys will be voting for an early Christmas. I think it will de-list though - one way or another. | kimboy2
28/12/2012 14:25 | I am not sure many long term holders will be keen to stay through another build cycle of a business with the exact same management in place so it is a question of whether a new business and team or if an exit strategy appears ? I cannot see the status quo remaining. This needs to be taken off market if not as far too small for the costs involved. | davidosh
28/12/2012 13:06 | Legacy business model still bleeding so cash may be fully consumed imo (no advice intended) | giant steps
28/12/2012 12:32 | GS Cash still twice market cap, one could argue on a NAV base this is cheap, if they sold everything off in firesale shareholders would see a 3-4 fold return on current level, but that is never going to happen here is it ? | 34simon
28/12/2012 11:13 | Not only the losses, but £450k of expenditure capitalised to the b/s as intangibles. | briangeeee
28/12/2012 07:36 | Still bleeding for the six months ending September 2012 Loss before tax from continuing operations of £1.0m RNS 28th December 2012 | giant steps
12/12/2012 09:01 | Interim results overdue ? LY 9 DEC 2011 | giant steps
29/11/2012 19:03 | Has no one learnt from the past. "A Leopard cannot change its spots".No changes at the top of this felidae family so anyone even contemplating taking a position in this company needs to take a long look at themselves in the mirror.....don't go there is my advice!! Have they opened any more restaurant's recently..does anyone know? | curvedair
19/11/2012 09:56 | Well about 3 weeks to go the TU. Will soon find out if this has anymore legs. | toback
13/11/2012 20:37 | I think that's the point - nothing's been announced. It spiked on the Chairman's purchase in the belief that 'something must be about to happen'. If it doesn't, it'll go right back to where it came from IMHO. | jeffian
13/11/2012 16:21 | Taking a late hammering, has something been announced ? | 34simon
06/11/2012 17:29 | Times, I think you will find that it was triggered by the Chairman's share purchase which was deemed to be sending a 'signal'. | jeffian
06/11/2012 17:18 | The rise in share price which can hardly be based on anything the company has said indicates that there are some new suckers in town. Or, there is some corporate activity in the offing leaking out of someones office. | timesmoney
06/11/2012 08:19 | jeffian - 4840: There is often a belief that if you do what 'the big boys' do, you will do well but so often in companies where there is a dominant shareholder - particularly where that shareholder also has an executive role - what is good for them is not necessarily good for the minority holders. IF those shareholders are in the process of turning a dominant position into a controlling position, the chances are that they will organise things to their own advantage and to the disadvantage of the rest. Very wise words which many people would do well to consider seriously ! | masurenguy
06/11/2012 08:02 | Up pre market on bid and offer now on no trades ? | 34simon
02/11/2012 23:12 | Jeffian Again I hinted my question was purely about the trades, I do read your posts and do understand the situation and do take on board what you say. That buy was almost 1.5% of the company today. | 34simon
02/11/2012 19:48 | Simon, As you say, nobody knows what is going on "behind the scenes" but as I posted earlier, it all comes down to whether you trust these people. There is often a belief that if you do what 'the big boys' do, you will do well but so often in companies where there is a dominant shareholder - particularly where that shareholder also has an executive role - what is good for them is not necessarily good for the minority holders. IF those shareholders are in the process of turning a dominant position into a controlling position, the chances are that they will organise things to their own advantage and to the disadvantage of the rest. davidosh and I were at the sharp end of this at OPD; the Reuben brothers did it at Ultimate Leisure; Jim Mellon has done it at Speymill....the list is endless. | jeffian
02/11/2012 19:24 | Forget about the company itself and it's trading and past record but look at the trades here and there's some big blocks of stocks changing hands, other day there was 150k at 11.75p and today 258,560 buy at 11.75p, that is massive, £30k is not a fortune but in this low market cap it is big enough, what is going on behind the scenes that is the big mystery, I do not think a random PI would just buy that kind of stock for a punt on what they read and see on the internet. | 34simon
02/11/2012 12:49 | 12p so far, not as frantic as previous sessions, mm keeping spread nice and wide this time, they seem short of stock again charging full offer on 1.5p spread. | 34simon
02/11/2012 08:51 | It's off again, how high will it get chased to today ? | 34simon |
