interesting. There was no need for him to do it, and no one had any hope or expectations that he would do it. the txn was 1.15% of the company, so is not insignificant from that point of view.

It is only 14k, far below the ridiculous bonus he paid himself.

But still interesting. Is it possible we may see the heady heights of 10p again :-)

I sold out here because I needed to utilise the CGT loss but I think that the point that TommyJNewton is making is that, whatever the fundamentals, do you trust these guys to make sure that you all benefit equally? Trevor Allan, who is effectively the controlling shareholder, looks like a man who needs every bit of that £4m to maintain his chosen lifestyle and his questionable record of deals which have seen £m's go to people with whom he seems to have some sort of personal association suggest to me that he doesn't necessarily plan to share it around with minority shareholders. I used to have some hope that Peter Cowgill would look after the minorities, but his 'I'm-just-a-straight-talking-lad' act took a bit of a battering at various meetings I attended. Firstly, I feel his role of independent non-exec was compromised by taking a very substantial cash bonus; then he was remarkably cavalier about the misleading RNS's which disguised the breaks in the Morrisons contract and at a subsequent AGM he opened the batting with the comments that he was worth far more than any other shareholder attending and that our comments would therefore not carry much weight! (though he did tone that down a bit when I challenged him). Whilst I would normally be encouraged by a substantial Director buy, this did only involve £14,000 so, I think, is designed more to send a signal than anything. It's a high-risk one for the brave, really, but I have seen many cases where controlling Directors have organised things to their own advantage and these guys have form. Good luck to those who take the plunge.

I'd say that is quite significant especially as it is twice the price of what
the shares have been trading for a while, this might go silly tomorrow because
there is little stock to play with and it will not take more than 3-4 10-15k buys
to see this on the leaderboard.

They look short of stock, sales are getting close to the mid price.

A tad undervalued with £4 million in cash.
Chequered history, perhaps a change of direction and cloth cutting has worked.
Recommend buy at this level.

Throwing money at this company could be compared to financing the local burglars and trusting they will go legitimate

Comment yesterday meant the story's worth 40p, not he share! I wouldn't touch the shares with a barge poll imo

Has MBL been tipped somewhere as very unusual to see a large number of trades like this. I did not attend the Agm this year but very interested to hear from anyone who did?

I have requested a London presentation for investors so that we can try to understand the strategy going forward and just what is left of the business to invest in and what will drive earnings and hopefully future dividends. The problem remains though as to how many will have confidence to invest when looking at the past performance and issues raised.

Incidentally the interims should be out within a few weeks so maybe some clarification of what is doing well out of the remains will be revealed then.

I notice the 3 leading risers are MBL, RCG and CPP.

Never give a sucker an even break as Trevor Allan might have said.

Will ex-shareholders be invited ?
I might enjoy watching them being given a hard time if so :-)

For those who are interested a group of shareholders have requested a London presentation. I will keep you posted here.
