MAX is on my watch list too, as I traded it a few years ago. I really thought it is gonna be a huge producer within a few years. Now it is just a survival mode, but my hopes are with shareholders here. The problem is the part of the world where the company is placed. My Oxus had many troubles in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, troubles with Kazakhstan company too. Now OXS is awaiting arbitration result and I hope there is justice on the world.

Can only assume the 5p holders will want their money back , so so 3/4p looks likely if Agr jump back in!

The assets will not recover the debt, particularly because of the price of oil. Sberbank have invested in Max by holding shares and believed by now they would have been punping 10,000 bod and found 500MMb at NUR-1. None of this has happened and like everyone else are now looking at losses. Sberbank may get $30-40m from a sale, which is all AGR were willing to put in for 51% of Max..not anymore, it would seem ideal for Sberbank to relax the terms so AGR can come onboard and sweat the assets and make money longterm as would Sberbank..or for AGR to just buy out Max and do a deal on the debt with Sberbank, who would probably be more comfortable at doing that considering AGR financial backing. Obviously shareholders, including Sberbank won't get much but it would be better than losing all the money. Can't be long to find out.

".... a small price to pay compared to the alternative." Not for Sberbank, surely? They can take the assets instead which is surely better for them - not for other shareholders though! But what does Sberbank care about them?

All that's required is a bit of patience from Sberbank to see the oil price recover and a bit of cash, or more favourable terms on the debt, and Max can go forward with the AGR deal. Everyone keeps their jobs and Sberbank get their money back albeit delayed...but a small price to pay compared to the alternative. Sberbank a major shareholder aswell.

Hey Travis , you are one smart cookie , did you get a 1st class in this subject , if you don't mind me saying you seem to have left out Shell and BP in your list , and what about Premier Oil , don't you think they are dogs.
