well, not in to MAT for quite a while - got out without too much loss - at least I do not continually pump my shares around other BB threads - unlike yourself....... and I do highlight my mistakes as well (as per post #6).

blimey - one sell and down 10% !
Such a tightly held share - one for the bottom drawer and come back in a years time I think. Not great interims, but fairly positive forward statement.

Extremely grim set of results led me to dump my 10k shares this morning at 63p. I should have taken your lead GHF and sold out as soon as they issued the last statement. In hindsight you can see this has been pumped and dumped by management. The £1 share purchase by directors was just to pump the share price up. Especially when they were aware first quarter trading had gone badly. Costs are totally out of control as well.

Its been a hard lesson over the last few months for me regarding small caps. Evasive directors from companies based overseas engaging in strange share dealings should have a red light warning.

Apologies if anyone brought in following my email reply from the company. Looking back the comment that trading was going well was patently untrue. I might consider forwarding it to the FSA but I wouldn't expect anything to come of it.

I took a small position in these following the Director purchases in July, but sold a short time later as despite repeated attempts to establish further financial information and seek clarification over a few points I was met with "stoney silence" by both brokers and the company themselves.

There are plenty of other small cap companies that bend over backwards to communicate with investors so best that any would-be investors are aware of this.

Nonetheless I am surprised at today's statement which is disappointing given the fanfare of the director buying at a 27% premium.
Good luck any holders.

GHF

A new distributor, turnover up 20%, expectations down. A mixed bag which will probably keep this one about where it is.

WOW, 2000 shares sold and price dips 3.5p..... been very quiet here for far too long. Usually a good sign - ready to wake up lively given previous contract wins. Hope this isn't some insider selling early on poor interim results...

Great news today shows confidence in future increasing profitability. Far too cheap at 8.6m mkt cap :-)

Welcome aboard GHF.

Hopefully a little momentum will build in MAT following today's announcement. I can imagine it will register in a few director dealing articles which should help us back towards a pound. With trading going well and the underlying market growing in double digits im hoping its rating improves markedly over time. We may have to wait until the interims to get it but it should move quickly thereon as there won't likely be much loose stock around.

Good investigation GHF, certainly seems likely.

Very nice tick up at the end of day, I think this will gain another 5-10p tomorrow as the news filters out, and to repeat again - very small number of shares in general circulation so if there is any significant demand its going to do wonders for the share price

On looking through the RNS, the Chairman has shelled out £1.8m on stock and also a Mr Ariaudo has taken a 4.5% stake.

Quick check flags up Corrado Ariaudo, Chairman of Management & Capatali, an Italian investment company. It may be off the mark but the biography highlights him as a former major player with Olivetti.

Is it the same Mr Ariaudo ?

Born in 1960, Mr Auriado graduated in Economics and Commerce at the University of Turin, and is a qualified auditor. He began his professional career at Ernst & Young in 1983, then from 1985 he worked within Olivetti. There he remained for 17 years, assuming increasing responsibility both within Italy and abroad, as head of the group's restructuring projects, as Auditing Manager, Administration, Finance and Audit Manager, then as Managing Director of Olivetti Tecnost, and finally as Chief Operating Officer of Olivetti in 1999. In transforming Olivetti's business from information technology to telecommunications, he took part in some of the most important transactions the group carried out in recent decades, including:

» within the telecommunications sector: from the tender for the mobile telephony licence (in 1994), to the subsequent creation of Omnitel and then Infostrada, and its later sale to Mannesmann (now Vodafone), through to the successful takeover bid for Telecom Italia (in 1999);

» within the information technology sector: a large number of negotiations and a series of deals (mergers, joint ventures, sales of businesses and companies) that the group carried out in its drastic restructuring, together with a major rationalisation in staffing levels and operating structures; and

» in the gaming sector: the development, and stock exchange listing, of Lottomatica (2001).

Mr Ariaudo left Olivetti in December 2002, as the merger with Telecom Italia began, and pursued business interests in Italy and abroad.

GHF

forgot to mention, these shares are very tightly held, so only takes small trading volumes to shift the price - which always makes for a fun ride up (and down!)

Yep, concur with posts above.

Results appeared fine and today's announcement does indicate that these are undevalued. Management investing a substantial sum and indicating that trading is good.

I've taken a small position.

Good to see you in these nick.

I think there is a great deal of potential here - great growth business line, excellent customer base too. This is just off most PIs radar at the moment, as its been pretty dormant since flotation. I predict this news will take it to 90p+ over the next week, then any significant media coverage take it close to £1 as still cheaper than when floated. As for how high it might go in medium term if trading results come home strongly then.....?

A little incestuous but todays announcement is still good news. Major director upping his own personal stake sharply at 1 pound a share which is a significant premium to the current share price. Trading is also going well. Bodes well for a return back to a pound in the not too distant future. Market a little slow to pick up on todays news so far.

There have been a lot of sells over the last week or so. I would imagine it was down to those buying at below 70p or so taking a small turn. I was amazed how well the bid held up considering previous falls and market jitters. That meant stock has now become available and share price are able to offer 15k. They were offering them at 79p yesterday so Im not really sure why they have had a change of heart today by bunking up the offer. Maybe their large seller has said no more selling and so they are now waiting for a higher price for whatever stock they have left to shift. I will email the company later today to ask when the AGM is and whether we will get a trading statement to go with it. That should be bullish enough and be enough to bump the share price up again.
