BCA off again - wonder if a new bidder around. Either way, not really being reflected in MVI s/p.

Yup - impressive stuff Another minor point is that we went ex div for 2p yesterday too, so holding up well all in all.

And BCA now well up - +7p on the day the bid's off, who'd have thought.

BCA bid is off but BCA share price already dcb'ing and has yet to go below where it was pre-bid. All moderately good for MVI.

low offer for bca will surely hit marwyn unless significantly higher offer results...

Surprised not up more - ST ramping it, and NAV increase just on BCA rise is barely reflected. Let alone the fact that if BCA do go, MVI escapes from what was a poorly-performing (and very large) position. Was hoping for more of a spike to sell into, but staying in for time being. And there's always the dividend...

Post-noon flurry of shares indicative of ST's follow up today to his tip last week. Essentially says the value of MVI's holding in BCA plus its cash is almost equivalent to MVI's market cap, leaving the rest (ZEG, other cash shells) in for free.

Liberum; Bid rejected for BCA Marketplace Event The board of BCA Marketplace rejected a preliminary offer of 200p per share for the company from Apax Partners. The offer was made on 9 May and no further proposals have been received. Apax has announced this morning that is is considering a possible offer for the company. BCA Marketplace is the largest investment in Marwyn's portfolio. We estimate it accounts for c.37% of NAV. Liberum view BCA owns and operates Europe’s largest automotive exchange network, providing a range of vehicle management services to OEMs, leasing companies and dealerships. The company's share price has recovered by 41% since mid-March following a period of volatile performance in Q1 2017. The Q1 share price decline may have been driven by market concerns regarding new car sales in the UK. BCA has, however, been gaining share in the volume of used vehicles processed through its infrastructure and is also expected to benefit from providing services to OEMs and leasing companies to maximise residual values in this environment. Given BCA's last closing price of 211p, we would expect any potential bid will need to be significantly higher than 200p in order to be successful. Marwyn currently trades on a -31.7% discount to our live NAV estimate.

BCA up 8% and may give MVI a decent exit on any t/o. Bound now to be another rapid ST update on MVI. Looking good to go higher I say. Edit - if I were MVI I'd be slotting like mad right now! BCA trading 20% over the mooted bid price.

200p BCA offer, pretty low-ball! No wonder rejected, Apax either going to have to do a lot better, or walk. I'll have to eat my hat if they do a lot better - never felt comfortable with MVI punting so many BCA.

Thank you gleach for the link. BCA has gone up 2.5% today. I'm very pleased with this investment which I regard as still very undervalued.

As BCA hits £2 this morning, a link to yesterday's ST tip is below. Having read it, one can understand the heavy buying yesterday - https://www.investorschronicle.co.uk/comment/2018/06/04/marwyn-s-buying-opportunity/

not a holder- yet. value looks good but share price trend boring. apart from an ST tip what will get this moving? Impatient institutions forcing paper profit into cash in the bank? or??? The huge nav discount is no secret so cant expect results on 28/6 to shift share price surely?

Thankyou Robsy. I hope you have seen the NAV announcement at the end of the day today. As at 11 May the closing mid share price of an Ordinary Share in the Company was GBP1.2650 and represented a discount of 36.64% to the net asset value per Ordinary Share. A discount of 36.64% is far too high and unwarranted especially given the high yield on offer. I'm targeting a minimum share price of £1.60. This would still be a 20% discount and would not in any way overvalue this stock.

Welcome to Hedge fund Harry who has bought a dash of enthusiam to the thread. I am a holder and am a bit disgruntled. as someone said here , the biz model here looks to be not working very well and things are at a low ebb. Gloo was a dreadful waste of money . i imagine the institutional backers are not best pleased.BUT ,I think the situation is a bit brightere than the sap suggests so I'm a reluctant holder. the divi is good and their (increasingly) previous track record remains worthy of some respect. a sniff of 150 p and I'm out!
