I note that today's Market Report in the Times refers to Marstons in connection with takeover activity in the sector (eg City Pub Group/Youngs) and says that Marstons must be on people's radar.
One can but hope.

That conveniently forgets they already turned down an offer over £1 a few years ago as they "thought" it was
undervaluing the company.
I suspect it would have put the directors' livelihoods at risk and that was a fundamental for them to take into
account.
I read so many companies these days - is this one where the CEO is departing or has been replaced ?
If not and the board remains substantially the same as that which rejected the takeover approach , then since they
seriously overestimated themselves - I don't see anything changing soon.
As for disposals in this market with Pubs closing by the day - is there evidence that those disposed of were crap ?
Unless they were disposed of for change of use I would expect they had to get rid of money making pubs not the dross.
#6882,
That's rather an odd comment. The pub/brewery sector has been one of almost constant takeover activity for many years.
Well if you donât believe the profit story or the asset story, the takeover story sounds like the biggest fantasy of all..

And to think Management rejected a £1.05 takeover bid saying it was too low in relation to fair value...
