Not got the time to look at debt maturities but what happens when interest rates rise on their very significant borrowings? I presume this is one of the main reasons for the short positions.

It's a buy for me at this level. Market cautious over debt, but MARS in growth phase, hence why debt slowly coming down. Great figures today, and nice div too

Rather than continue as a building and property company Marston should revert back to brewing and selling beer diverting their capex from building lodges etc to debt reduction. Building a new toy craft brewery when you own umpteen already is madness.

It also seems to me that the banks have got Marston by the b*lls.

RB, if you ignore the debt yes.

I notice the sale and leasebacks are excluded from debt metrics.

The pension valuation hit was nasty but it will take care of itself as interest rates start to rise again. All in all a very decent set of numbers.

A bit more than headline. Slower rise in min wage will also help.
