Last autumn I mentioned the brands were worth a few bob. Glad to be vindicated, glad I held on, regret my top up in March was so modest and not so well timed as others on this board.

Ft and BBC just released updates. Expect major coverage over weekend and valuations in excess of today’s price and this has not only kept the lights on but breathed new life into this old dog

To be fair to both parties, they kept that well under wraps.

The modest rally seen several days ago piqued my interest...but as distracted as I was didn't investigate too keenly.

Expect major focus / spotlight in both the mainstream and financial press over an extended weekend.

It will focus a lot of minds.

Conference call only started an hour or so ago.

Early days. A new dawn for MARS......even though, in time, the share price was set to regain ground anyway, as we were hitherto seeing.

Jeffian in denial, and I've no doubt he will carry on that way. He has repeatedly encouraged the posters on this board to worry about the debt. From just a few days back.. "This from Young's this morning re Finance and LiquidityhtTps://www.investegate.co.uk/young---38--co--39-s-brew---ynga-/rns/financing-and-liquidity-update/202005130700066950M/If this is indicative of the industry generally, just what MARS doesn't want, you might think - more debt"

Hi all,

Think of the announcement timing : mid afternoon, before a long weekend for people to read the papers and have a bevvie or two, whilst they mull over the good things in life...!

This may still have some legs...

Trying to get out at 55p. No electronic quotes with my broker. Limit orders sent to dealing desk unlikely to get filled at best. May have got my math wrong but don't think so.

#3818,

wigwammer, I think you must be confusing me with someone else! My main beef with MARS has never been about debt, it's been about trading performance - lack of revenue and profit growth. I'm happy to be proved wrong if you can point me at any of my posts where debt is the "main beef". In fact, as an investor in GNK and EIG, I've always been pretty comfortable with debt secured on freehold property.

Having said that, MARS's debt hasn't gone away, you know?!
