The average duty on a pint of beer is 52p spreadsheet Phil will be looking at this with an eagle eye

The major coffee houses pay our country very little tax as they use our antiquated tax system to avoid paying

Spreadsheet Phil should put an 18p duty on all dispensed coffees in cups ,mugs,

takeaway plastic containers incurring a further 5% disposal tax

Either way it's a good way for all of us to make money with options
CFDs PUT,CALL come on Phil give us all a chance to make a few bob

From Tempus :"Put simply, Marston's share price is confusing. The debt, at about £1.3 billion, is high, but most of it is long term with a fixed rate of interest. The dividend is twice covered by cashflows and the net value of Marston's assets is 150p a share. Buy the shares, hold them, and wait for the City to change its mind."

Buy recommendation in today’s Times Tempus column (hard copy):

“Next year’s trading shouldn’t be as tough and the dividend feel safe”

Disposals during 2013 & 2014 then back to picking up other companies unwanted pubs. It would seem the compulsive asset purchase illness is still rampant with no cure in sight.

The value of the IRS's will increase as interest rates increase, however, that will be taken through P&L presumably on a daily mark to market?

If rates rise and cost to finance it becomes a problem, then they could look at their dividend policy. Not only that, they are acquiring assets that have value and makes are current MC look very cheap. I think there are many companies out there that would go under well before MARS if interest rates went too high. Not forgetting the wider market reaction to all shares.

Interest rates could bankrupt any company with massive debt if they start to rise
I can't see the interest they are paying is at a fixed rate when
The whole uk ecconamy is expecting rate rises contributing to a further decline in consumer spending
A 10% drop in sales could have devastating results
This is why this is in the thick n smelly

I don't understand why they keep on expanding their estate, when their existing estate is shrinking in real terms (ie like for like sales growing less than inflation)
They seem to be more concerned with turnover growth than profit.

Like others here wasn't impressed. Headline numbers pretty much as expected but lease back of 15 M&B rejects and the 'higher interest' concerning. Also, if MARS distributes to 25% of UK pubs surely there is only downside risk. Positives - CW full year of efficiencies next year, divi likely up 0.1p, estate expansion.

For those more accountancy clued up than me, also adjusted profit up £4m, I assume as statutory will be down £40-50m due to estate revaluation and value of swaps then corporation tax will be down about £8m compared to last year?

Added some more at 96p, good progress, I see a steady rise into 2019, one to hold in my books. I have been buying VOD & TSCO on recent weakness too. All these stocks incl. MARS offering decent yields.
