That's interesting, both Barclays & HSBC before the results were predicting the profit would be lower than it actually was. So good to see them both now positive with targets above £4.

I think the others bar for Peel Hunt are probably trying to either buy more or close shorts.

Yep, the truth is nobody really knows......I reckon they`ll trade between 350p and 400p until the next update. Proof still needed of the turnaround.

Investors Chronicle:

IC TIP UPDATES:

A weak fourth quarter has piqued many investors’ interest this morning, particularly as it followed a more bullish third quarter report.

But chief executive Steve Rowe is more proud of the company’s success is charging full price for its clothing and home products. According to Mr Rowe, the business will soon log 91 straight days without promotions - the longest stretch in 10 years. We’ll follow up with more today, but for now, we remain buyers.

Thanks Philanderer for all your input here on HYP company info. With regard to the Peel Hunt buy rating, I see from the article they have decided on a 500 pence target. Wow!

Just adding to your post Nobilis

When an investor or trader enters a short position, he or she does so with the intention of profiting from falling prices. This is the opposite of a traditional long position where an investor hopes to profit from a rising market.

A brokerage firm lends shares or contracts to the customer who engages in the short sale. The firm uses its own inventory, another customer's margin account or another lender to supply the shares or contracts to the shorting customer. The customer typically pays interest on the loan, and if a borrowed stock pays a dividend, the customer is also responsible for paying the original owner the value of the dividends

Broker Peel Hunt said: “We think that M&S is doing a lot of the right things and that, in a tough market, the shopper is responding relatively well.”

When I turned my radio on just before 1pm I heard on R4 them talking about M&S. I missed the main programme only caught the end, but one women contacted them saying she loves M&S because they cater for the larger size women, and have a very good range.

Well, with more & more women putting on weight. Just walk around any town/city, and you'll know what I mean. M&S is certainly going to attract more business.

Anyone short then is going to have to find a heap of money to pay that dividend back

There will also be buying pressure from instis who want to collect that dividend
