Numpty, but apart from the bleak outlook which you have eloquently laid out MARKS will be the only High Street shop left where everyone will flock to which will give them billions if not trillions of profits.

I agree Debb’s it’s all a disaster!! Many retailers will go into administration as interest rates climb on the back of high inflation and companies/home owners will default on loan repayments/mortgages.

For those who survive on debt alone it’s going to be a tough 10 years ahead.

Start ups, small/medium size businesses will suffer the most, and those not on fixed mortgages.

It’s going to get really tough on slot machine arcades too as there will be far fewer pennies in peoples pockets. Blackpool’s golden mile shuts down due to sharp decline in holiday traffic as no one can afford holidays and energy bills! One ex Blackpool holiday fanatic was heard saying “well it’s either grub on ta tabil or hols in Blackpool , we chose grub”! And al go to foot of ar stairs! Eey by gum!

Ftse will fall below 4,000, interest rates at 10%, cheapest mortgage rate at 9%! House prices drop 65%, food prices +65% compared to 2019!!! Energy prices + 800% v 2019! No fixed price tariffs on energy. 7000 shops close every month across UK!

UK in desperate talks to rejoin the EU as it defaults on debt payments and Germany lends money to UK to help. (Or China)

HS2 stopped in it’s tracks half complete, power outages for 50% of week across Uk and the gloom continues!

Where will it all end ?

BTW does anyone know when Mks half year results are published???

Kraft Heinz says cost of food will have to go up

The public are having to see their cost of living go up significanntly with higher energy costs whether its for home use or filling up the car.

HumptyNumpty will make his usual excuses but these things cannot be ignored it will affect retail as the retailers cannot pass all of their prices on.

Tha BOE is also worried how all this will pan out and we could see a market meltdown.

Tesco.....Dave Taylor4 Oct 2021 3:38PMThis article is absolutely ridiculous. Tesco is way way underpriced. Its worth at least £200 billion. That is what you should need to buy it.The enterprise value doesnt respect that the shares are massively underpriced. Market cap should be based on turnover like it is in the US.The only reason everyone is interested in supermarkets suddenly is because the Issa brothers bought Asda. They saw an opportunity which caught everyone's attention. The only way to make a success out of buying a supermarket chain is to expand internationally. Trying to win a few percentage points of domestic market share here and there is a lost cause. The competition is fierce and the market is saturated.Flag1LikeReplyHugh Soden4 Oct 2021 3:57PM@Dave TaylorAh, but our world leading City boys like to keep UK stocks down at the lower end, so they can buy on the dips....Daily Telegraph

Tesco braces for bids in private equity's supermarket sweepAs Morrisons and Asda fall into private buyers' hands, the UK's biggest grocer is fighting to avoid being added to their shopping basketByLaura Onita4 October 2021 • 12:00pm?Tesco has always been the acquirer, never the target itself – racking up 30 deals and counting in its 102-year existence. Until now.The grocer has made a name for itself via a series of strategic, and sometimes ruthless, swoops on smaller firms to become Britain's largest supermarket."We have a full plan and we know exactly what we want to do," said Ian MacLaurin, chairman at the time, to his counterpart at northern supermarket chain Hilliards, when Tesco completed a hostile takeover 34 years ago. Incandescent with rage, the minnow's chairman had launched a vitriolic attack on City institutions, which, he said, had sided with Tesco in its triumphant £197m fight....Daily Telegraph

Petrol crisis on our forecourts was partly caused by petrol stations running down their tanks ready for the E5 fuel.

This wouldnt have been a problem but for Numpty filling up his tank and taking gerry cans to fill up as well as his plastic water bottles.
