10/12/2020 13:08 | A new partnership of farmers, processors, trade bodies and retailers has been launched in a bid to drive standards and sustainability in the beef supply chain. The likes of Sains-bury's, M&S, Morrisons, Tesco and McDonald's are among 26 organisations to have signed up to the UK Cattle Sustainability Platform, which will develop workstreams and measure its progress against four target areas: the environment, animal medicines, animal health and welfare, and farm management. The platform was needed to "unite the activities of the UK cattle sector on its sustainability journey", it said, and would "promote and recognise all aspects of the beef value chain for its delivery of measurable positive impacts and continuous improvements to key sustainability priorities".The move follows the launch by industry of the British Meat, Origin Matters website in September, designed to instigate cross-industry collaboration and promote the benefits of domestically sourced meat.... 10/12/2020 09:21 | FRASERS group says its looking at some of ARCADIA brands and discussions are still ongoing with Debenhams. The longer it takes to do a deal over Debenhams the less likely much of the company will be saved as the stores will be depleted of stock. FRASERS still managed to push interim profits up despite the lockdown. | debsdowner
10/12/2020 00:55 | So Boris went over to Ursula's tonight but he couldn't do it tonight . He said she stank of fish and he refused to lay down on a level playing field . It's like getting pandas to mate. Sp is gonna go lower down the skirt tomorrow. We got to hold on and wait till Sunday. They might do it long distance . Anyways if he manages to get the EU's leg up with internal market bill intact and the fishy bit too, we might see a share price go higher up the skirt. But how high ? To gaiters or all the crevice? That's to be seen. Anyways hope he uses protection cos we wanna be shut of it now don't we lads and lasses . ( tho I've not heard of any self respecting lass on advfn... but then again no self respecting man either so we're even) | bakar922

09/12/2020 12:13 | My wife is a die hard Waitrose shopper uses Ocado all of the time, says she much prefers Waitrose but is adjusting to all of these M&S products now. A lot of Ocado customers said they were going to Waitrose online not many did including my wife. When I saw these at 90p I said to her I'm buying some MKS she responded oh they're not as good as they used to be, so then I so are you switching from Ocado, the answer was no. Looked at Ocado's revenues, looked at Ocado's forecast revenues, looked at who is running the turnaround for M&S well they've got the best with Archie Norman. Bought in because at 90p they're a steal. I remember when I bought Asda at 28p back in the 90s - Archie Norman turned it around they went over 100p then got bought out by that huge American company Walmart. Before Asda he turned around Kingfisher group. If anybody can turn this company around it's him | creditcrunchies

08/12/2020 10:41 | SKY presenter Kay Burley in the firing line for breaking covid rules and missing from SKY breakfast this morning. Terrible revelation for a SKY reporter who is supposed to criticise MPs behaviour yet breaks the rules herself and there can be no excuse for an intelligent woman of her standing. Will she or wont she get the sack one ? | debsdowner
08/12/2020 09:53 | diku, I have mixed feelings on the man, I don't agree with all the comments the property CEO has said, Landlords can be unsympathetic as well and ruin a small business. If Ashley can save jobs and bring down prices in a department store then good luck to him, he would have won where Philip Day failed. | debsdowner
08/12/2020 09:40 | My point being his name gets a mentioned/floated around at every distressed retailer in the news...so he could be playing one against the other...driving price lower with opportunist bidding... | diku
