31/1/2007 15:34 | Pragmatism and profit always take precedence over sentiment scots! I'm still bullish on MMC (as recently as now!), but evidently MMC's biggest shareholders are bearish and my small holding doesn't begin to compete with those. I could now buy back cheaper than I sold at, but will wait and see if I can buy a lot cheaper. If not then c'est la vie, the profit is in the bank :o)) | rivaldo
31/1/2007 14:25 | ...MMC has moved up very nicely since the first Schroder sell..and big buyers have similarly been announced (eg Legal and General)...all part of life with an institutional share Sorry to see Rivaldo go after he was so bullish as recently as last night (!)....but this is now a broker favourite and remains seriously undervalued imo...wouldn't want one small seller to make anyone feel the story has changed one iota! This remains principally an institutional share so for every buyer there needs to be a seller winkled out... And you can never argue against taking a profit I suppose... It may even end up on the day...! Good luck all ! | scotswhaehae
31/1/2007 14:01 | Good luck to you rivaldo and sorry to see you leave the thread. I can't find much that's better to ISA than this, but then these days I often think of abandoning the whole ISA thing as I can never find much that really interests me in the main market (not really into FTSE 100, 250 etc). | penpont
31/1/2007 13:32 | I must admit to having sold earlier to protect ISAble profits, triggered by the Schroders' RNS. I still think MMc are worth a lot more as above, but it seems that both Schroders and Barclays are heavily reducing large holdings, so there's no point in fighting the inevitable, as proven by the drop after my sell. Perhaps it'll be time to re-enter when the sellers seem to have stopped if I can time it right. Good luck all. | rivaldo
30/1/2007 21:47 | Ta penpont. We know the results on 12th March will be good, and they could surprise those previously unaware with anything around 5p EPS - there's not many ISAble stocks around on single-figure historic P/E's, let alone a current year P/E of 8.2 and a forward P/E of 7 or so. At these levels you're also getting near enough a 2% divi too. | rivaldo
30/1/2007 14:00 | Nice little rush of buyin then.. lol | pobpob
30/1/2007 11:13 | Keep up the good work rivaldo, it's appreciated. We know from the trading statement that they will make the top end of expectations, which should equate to eps of around 5p. For this year the consensus is around 5.8p, but could be more - growth of 16%. We'll soon know the forecast for 08 - should hopefully be at least 6.5 - 7p. Agm is early May, Interims early August, so a good steady newsflow up ahead. Obviously there is always the chance of a glitch being thrown up at some stage but the available evidence is compelling enough for me. I've been adding recently via sbs and through my ISA as this looks one of the best short and med term bets around. | penpont
30/1/2007 10:38 | Yep, they've added over another 1m shares and are up to 4% now: Kneath, someone's got to keep the thread going! | rivaldo
30/1/2007 10:28 | Looks like L & G has topped up again... | pobpob
29/1/2007 20:16 | Rivaldo - You 'avin a chat with yourself? | kneath
29/1/2007 12:31 | Bid up to 47.5p - getting a little exciting now by MMC standards :o)) EDIT - I give up! | rivaldo
29/1/2007 08:45 | Bid price up to 47p now - slow but steady progress. EDIT - didn't last long then! EDIT2 - yes it did! | rivaldo
28/1/2007 16:50 | Yes, the PE is ridiculously low. Onwards and upwards from here. | dogdogman2005
28/1/2007 10:46 | Nice to see the upticks at the Friday close - hopefully more than just the closing price effect. New instiuttional stakeholdings and chart breakouts will hopefully entice more and more back in to this stock on such a low single-figure P/E. | rivaldo
25/1/2007 13:40 | Pobjob - As a holder in both - good news. Mid - 50's would be sweet. Wish L & G would be quite so responsive to good news. Terrific update today and little response. | kneath
25/1/2007 12:58 | hmmm... looks like L & G have bought some shares.. think this will soon be in the mid 50's | pobpob
24/1/2007 20:23 | Know sod-all about charting - but this now looks a bit healthier than it has for some time... 1.5p more and my 'average' breaks even. And about time!!! | kneath
24/1/2007 12:46 | Talk about stealthy...the bid has crept up to 46.5p now. | rivaldo
24/1/2007 12:23 | Looking good guys. Steadily holding for the next wave up. | dogdogman2005
24/1/2007 11:58 | Yep, now 46.25p bid, and stealthily moving past old chart highs too. | rivaldo
24/1/2007 09:06 | i am thinking about getting back in maybe that overhang is gone | steve133 |
