I was getting it for £4 when they first introduced it late last year. The cheaper Mud Bay stuff is shipped over in containers and bottled here. I wouldn't pay a tenner for it. The SB is OK , but again not for a tenner.

You might try Mud House pinot noir from Sainsbury, well under £10 and very nice indeed

This is a superb wine, fantastic depth of flavours and should be selling for around 12 quid imo

Do they take into account when they have 25% off 6 or more as Sainsbury have at present? Lidl don't do this. In fact , are they looking at the RRP rather than special offer price as I suspect?

That's the point of a blind taste test. You aren't prejudiced by being told the price.

It will have to await the dog approval test.

Sniff sniff!

...moving on, CO-OP now has stock of the MONTGRAS Reserva Especial Carmenere 2014.

I thought about not posting this recommendation. It's that good, I want it all to myself. Seriously.

What a treat this 2014 is, compared to the 2013 version, which had a strange, almost 'magnetic' taste. The 2013 was a shadow of its 2012 predecessor.

Hopefully, you're all confused now and won't bother even trying it.

btw, each bottle is individually boxed. £9.50 ish.

I'll be in tomorrow, thanks for the heads up. The Mrs used to work for them in their head office and I'd get the 25% off, plus another 10% staff discount too!! All history now though :-(

Yes Dave that's how it works.

Coop are doing a Villa Maria SB for £7.49 (down from £11.25) and it's stunning.

Edit : and I've just seen morrisons doing it for £7.99 minus 25% if you get 6 of course lol

Well I've just had me 6 Villa Maria Pinot Noir from MRW @£8.99 per bottle down from £12.99
AND got a further 25% off that price so think that's a bit of a bargain.
Not sure if that's the way the offer is supposed to work but the till receipt doesn't lie!

25% off 6 at Morrison.
Penfolds Koonunga Hill cab/shiraz
Villa Maria pinot noir
Campo Viejo reserva and gran reserva was all I could see worth bothering with.

Bordeaux Undiscovered have , amongst others 3 new clarets just in . All at £ 7 or less.

I like the description of Domaine de Bouchet .... merlot , cabernet savignon and cabernet franc. 14 1/2 % so must be 'full' and is is recommended to drink with venison etc.

A google search shows it for sale in France for 4 euros ... so duty , transport etc. seems a very fair price.

I await my case to arrive ! Cheers !

I hope that the strength of the pound to the euro will reduce European wine prices.

I tried to buy some Chateaux des Trois Tours from bordeaux undiscovered yesterday .... they've sold out of a real bargain at £6.99 and not getting anymore.
Thought I'd google the wine for an alternative supplier ..... came up with Corkers wine club in Scotland ..... made an online order but was warned off when credit card payment came up. Tried to ring the co. direct but number unobtainable. Seems fishy to me.
