Palm Oil Jumps to Six-Month High as El Nino Threatens Supply

Can we expect the share price to respond?

The AIM listing makes it impossible to put in a tax sheltered ISA, so one thing to consider, but I do like MPE, AEP and NBPO. Why not buy all three?

which is the best of the palm oilers? out of MPE NBPO and AEP

I would appreciate informed answer

going by balance sheet it would seem to be MPE

am thinking of making a first time investment in this area and would apprieciate a well informed answer.

NBPO just looks expensive to me - unless look through earnings are set to be magnificent

I am here to learn so would appreciate all feed back. ready to be told that I wrong

thanks

I got in at 320, based on a tip with little research by myself I must confess, the reading I have done suggests this should give me good return on 3-5 yr basis.

Would love to hear anyone with better knowledge on this company...

Possibly starting to move up again after that last retracement. If that last leg up is anything to go by then these could move quickly. NBPO also moving strongly.

type mpevans into google go their site and there is a pdf download.
is for july08 released sept08? but their model is based on 20 year average prices so the recent drop has little bearing on how they value their assets.
Saying that if there is a seller out there then the price might go down further so I am thinking a good medium term bet if it does drop.
I have kept some of my powder dry on this just in case it does go down.

When were the assets last valued?
ammons

mmm....assets worth $266m at current palm oil price.
They have £30m in bank?
Should be £150m ie share price almost twice as high as current mkt cap £83m.
Earnings will fall but business is built on low oil price anyway so doubt a loss.
Therefore with little downside a cheap option on oil recovering?
Bought in today cant go much lower and should see a good rise at some point.

These have been recommended as over sold, down from £5 with most of the earnings from abroad.

This could be the bottom for this company, with its products in demand and good earning, may well return to £4 in the next 2 years.

comments anyone!!

Sold a few more today, but will keep the rest. Palm oil is down about 50% from the top. However, this is a good company long term. Palm Oil is a cyclical business with a cycle of 5 years or more. The peak has passed and so we could be looking at a rough 2/3 years imho. Trick is to buy at the bottom and sell at the top. Difficult to achieve though!

could be technical selling 3800. i made a little money from a trade long in april when 420 looked a solid base. once this was broached on the downside then acts as resistance as you can see in June / July. then the bottom dropped out - probably helped by falling CPO price and market turmoil

expect a short term recovery to 330 odd - who knows after that

I realize there was a news release today confirming the sale of assets, however has anyone any idea of why there was such a flurry of selling today normal amount of trading is normally so low for this share when I sold mine earlier in the year you could only trade 150 shares online they are so illiquid.
