29/10/2019 16:24 | Appreciate it's really difficult to time these things, however would it be an idea to wait for a bout of equity volatility?. I get the buying in stages point. | essentialinvestor
29/10/2019 16:20 | Sounds like a plan. I bought a starting position between 217 and 219 and will look for more if we look like we're going for the gap. Sold PHNX in the Brexit bounce to above 730p...so far so good. | stun12
29/10/2019 16:09 | Thanks Jack, TA is not my thing at all so was unsure if a relevant observation or not. | essentialinvestor
29/10/2019 16:04 | Appears to be a gap certainly, but I'm not sure it's as significant when it's a share with no trading history. I'm thinking of hedging my bets with a starting position at this level and then see what happens. | cousin jack
29/10/2019 13:40 | Gap to be filled @ 204/5 ?. Any views on that appreciated. | essentialinvestor
24/10/2019 20:38 | Not surprised. The auction at just over £2 was an absolute bargain. This is a quality asset manager with a long history and good profitability. It's at a very attractive price indeed in my view, even if we are top of the market. | topvest
24/10/2019 18:38 | Director buying today | bench2
24/10/2019 17:11 | Changed my mind and have now swapped out of my long held position in PHNX and into MNG. Hoping for similarly long term joy. | martindjzz
24/10/2019 15:09 | ....... banks began coverage with glowing “buy” recommendations. Analysts at Deutsche Bank were not convinced initially, but, after the drop in the stock’s value in the past couple of days, yesterday they reckoned it was “too cheap to ignore”. “After two days of significant flow-back post the demerger, the shares now carry a final 2019 dividend yield of 7.8 per cent, plus a further 9.1 per cent in 2020,” Deutsche said. JP Morgan’s analysts believe that such payouts are easily covered. “The key attraction at M&G . . . is its cashflow profile,”Ashik Musaddi and his team said. “On top of earnings, we expect M&G to release capital backing the annuities business, which is in run-off. This provides a strong cushion to the dividend.” JP Morgan estimates that dividends will be covered 1.5 times by cash, with any leftovers potentially being used to make acquisitions or to lower debt. Barclays urged income investors to snap up the stock while the forecast yields remained high. The three banks expect the price to rise still further, with Barclays targeting 256p, JP Morgan 271p and Deutsche Bank setting its sights on 300p............. hxxps://www.thetimes | kiwi2007
24/10/2019 12:55 | Yes should be an easy 10% plus here really | sentimentrules
24/10/2019 08:56 | Got 2nd tranch at 217p. See these going to 230 fairly quickly as ex pru sellers dry up and onto 250 to 280 by May. | 2wild
24/10/2019 07:53 | 23 Oct 2019 Deutsche Bank Buy 212.05 300.00 Initiates/Starts | skinny
23/10/2019 20:26 | That's right, topvest. | dogwalker
23/10/2019 13:39 | Whereas I bought PRU for M&G, but hadn't realised it was such only effectively 15% M&G to 85% PRU. M&G looks much better value for money and yielding 8 or 9%. Yes, asset managers are my favourite sector. Volatile, but high returns on capital employed. Indeed, asset management done well is the most profitable business (ROCE wise) that there is. Unbeatable! | topvest
23/10/2019 12:14 | Probably fair to say many sold M&G stock to buy more PRU So should stabilise now and crack on | sentimentrules
23/10/2019 12:09 | Some analyst views today on ft alphaville markets live, brokers seem to think this is cheap with around 17% due in dividends over the next eighteen months. | lonrho
23/10/2019 11:58 | top, you like your asset managers!. Seen your posting on RIV which I looked at briefly. | essentialinvestor
23/10/2019 11:51 | Keeping a strong eye on Indivior for the next couple of days..dyor | sentimentrules
23/10/2019 11:46 | Current fair value circa 255 seems pretty much right in this instance | sentimentrules
23/10/2019 11:42 | I've 9-folded my demerger entitlement. Very good value to buy at book value in my view, even if we are late cycle. | topvest
23/10/2019 11:29 | I've just tipped my toe in with a small purchase as they look dirt cheap to me. A yield of 6 to 7% would seem more appropriate, which would give a price of 255 to 298p. | 2wild
23/10/2019 10:58 | Just bought a bit mid 213. Where it's opened today is good. Don't mean +5%. Just where it's operating. Expect a decent run here.. See how it reacts to opening day high | sentimentrules
23/10/2019 10:47 | The headache will be how many Hong Kong shareholders will want to hold MGN. Not many I'd imagine. | miti 1000
23/10/2019 10:42 | Well done EI and martin , further selling pressure to come I expect | bench2 |
