Nice move upwards, but the last time something similar happened it retraced the lot.

Looking at the chart I can draw in some imaginary lines marking the high and low trading channel limits and ~240p would hit the upper trendline at this point.

I hate trying to trade high yielding stocks though, feels wrong somehow ;0)

I don't think we need to discuss semantics of breakout after this morning's rise. Shall we discuss what figure might constitute a new high?

288 would be steal for this yield !
They can do one.
If it starts with a 4 I would consider it.

Looking for alternatives to earn the yield , while still diversifying from already held investments is not easy...

at the top end say SJP yielding only 2.88%
that would need an equivalent take out price of 633 to get the same yield .

Well undervalued, attracting takeover interest and still yielding about 8% at current share price. Bonkers!

Skinny - Don't forget the March intraday high was before Ex Div date. If you include the 12.24p, paid a couple of weeks ago. current share price is 242p and therefore I think it qualifies as a breakout

Clear as mud, but yes 🙄

On edit - if you look at the link I've posted - the title is the RNS title verbatim (see header).

I misread it as well, easy to do when both companies are fund managers! Yes, it is MNG taking a shareholding in Jupiter.
MNG share price is rising which is good.

Skinny,

Have you got that the wrong way around? Aren't M&G notifying that they have increased their stake in Jupiter Fund Management?

Is there a valuation for the sum of the parts?

Woodhawk - It reached 232p on the 13th of March if ADVFN's chart is right, so I would not class it as broken out yet, although the momentum does look pretty impressive today as does the trend over the last year. I suppose some might argue it looks a breakout on closing prices but that's not the full picture for me.

Not that I'm wishing to dent your enthusiasm. That's an impressive uplift for a poor day on the market.

"Why Schroders buying M&G just wouldn’t work"...

"The sum of the M&G parts is still greater than the current share price gives it credit for. As more investors understand that, the higher the shares should go."

Thanks pepper log. Something certainly seems up given the terrible day on the markets. I've added quite a lot today on the back of this.
