Posted at 11/4/2024 09:29 by woodhawk A near 15% drop ex-divi. Hardly surprising that people don't want to invest in this country, isn't it? Too many boy-traders and too few investors. |
Posted at 08/4/2024 16:49 by jubberjim Ok Churchill much appreciatedAnyway by the bye took a few here as Pru seems to have reached a nadir at 710 level So my 707 bid now looks to be going unfilled hence back in here Markets Investors and my good self totally clueless so the dividend covers a multitude of sins Thanks again Have removed my interest in Pru as serves no purpose now Good luck |
Posted at 28/3/2024 18:14 by spud An unmoderated board can become a tiresome place for genuine investors to glean knowledge and unfortunately this is becoming the case here. spud |
Posted at 28/3/2024 11:08 by pierre oreilly 80% of traders lose their lot. That's factual. All posters raking in between 30k and 80k pa in tax free divis are long term investors. That's factual (if you accept what people post) I'd say info on how to get to making 80kpa while doing fa is decent info, whereas how to go bust isn't. |
Posted at 28/3/2024 11:03 by rongetsrich Folks, are we seeing a trend here? I've never seen anything of worth, factual or analysis from Woody, Irish Pete and Riverman... at all, just the rubbishing of other investors, sneering and being of little worth to a group that could do all of the above; matriarchs in their own worlds. |
Posted at 28/3/2024 10:59 by woodhawk Riverman77,Same here - I post less and less now. Mostly juvenile gamblers, few investors. |
Posted at 28/3/2024 08:02 by topbun Pierre, look into what he’s said. He’s not a trader, but trades this share. He’s said he sold at 240.3 to Helen on a day when he hit that.235-13.2= a better return than the dividend IG he buys in right now. Don’t dispel other investors, unless you have the facts. I’m going to watch and see today! |
Posted at 28/3/2024 06:26 by scruff1 Woodhawk - my view as well (as I stated in 487). As an investor I am looking long term (though also reacting to circumstances as and when I deem appropriate). Like you I stack my divis and reinvest - as and when. I dont like the platform doing it as I have no control.Be interesting to see where the investors are compared to the big time Charlies come say next Friday - or this |
Posted at 13/3/2024 07:11 by masurenguy "Shares are trading at an undemanding 11 times forward earnings, cheaper than rival Abrdn at 13 and at a similar level to Schroders. M&G’s path toward growth still looks a little unclear. Altogether, the group controls around £332 billion, which makes it a relatively small fish in a vast and competitive sea of cash. Investors should not expect returns to blow the lights out, but for those looking for reliable payouts and steady returns, this stock looks a good fit.Advice Buy Why: High and well-covered dividend suits income investors" |
Posted at 14/12/2023 16:56 by alan@bj Investors' Chronicle "Idea of the Week". Their headline is, "Have faith in this mega dividend payer" and they summarise a fairly lengthy analysis with "Comparative valuations still favour M&G, whose earnings multiple of nine is slightly below that of L&G’s. At almost 10 per cent, the former’s dividend yield is also considerably better than the 8.2 per cent forecast for L&G. If M&G can meet its targets for cost control and does not take too much of a hit to its solvency ratio from higher interest rates, then arguably the potential for a higher rating is clear. The market environment is currently favourable, and the dividend is the most generous waiting payment that investors will find on the market, all of which means M&G presents a decent case to be taken seriously by investors." |
