Nice tick up to 172 on the ask. Think this is going to settle 190 - 200 ish until further news

I have been through the numbers and have several questions. 1. Why when things are so bad did they spend 1.5m on an office refurb? 2. Who owns that office? 3. Why is rent on that office so high? 4. Who brought in the auditors ie whats the relationship. 5. Most importantly of all how on earth are they going to make anywhere near street expectations in h2. Im amazed the fd is hanging around.

Don't look cheap to me, I would let the shares settle down after the news, before jumping in.

Was thinking of dipping toe in at these levels. Not now. Shocking results. Only a month ago company felt it was in line with FY profit expectations. Now 10% lower. Obvious danger that Nov. Accounting review now results in more impairments and downgrades. Saatchi needs to be taken out. But who will get involved till accounts are clean ?

At these prices dividend yield is around 7.25%, so not to be sniffed at. Can't see them wanting to cut the final dividend with their decent cash position, coupled with their claim that business growth looks solid from here on in. Cutting the dividend would undermine that claim, so not surprised it was maintained in these interims.

I didn't see anything unexpected in the update - just confirmation. So bought at 150p.

Shades of TLA, here, sadly. Revs under big pressure outside of uk and costs spiralling as management hire local accounting staff to get a grip on the bottom up picture of this biz. Imo this should be 100p for starters but could go much lower as management dont appear to know what has been happening day to day around the business.

Agree. Hence waiting for next update. Seems cheap on the face of it though.

Something must be seriously wrong for them to be trading all the way down here.

Looking for an entry point here. Now 186 to buy. Think I'll await the next update. Any views. 175 looks nailed on

And below 200p we go. A decent 150k offloaded at 190 a few minutes ago

Hmmm. Strange goings-on. Two trading updates in one week, in mid August. And a spate of Directors buying, which clearly fools no one. Obviously new CFO has come in, looked at accounts and seen the red flags. Starting in U.K. Auditors now getting sniffy. And another accounting review commissioned for Nov. Meanwhile, the lower the share price, the higher the Eps dilution. As put liabilities are settled.

The accounting has always been a bit poor in my view. That's partly why I sold out a while back...if you look at the profits announced they are always very heavily adjusted upwards to get to an underlying number. Not great quality earnings. Not a bad company at all, and may be interested again at the right price and in the next recession.

Best case they need a cfo in every office and have the wrong cost base and cashflow is more like 10m normalised. Worst case its a cfo who didnt realise the problems and he thinks I dont need this, bails and they warn for full year based on rapidly rising control costs. Sadly a good brand on the wrong rating. Will be a 100-200m co soon imo.

Might be ok. They know their stuff. Industry going through massive change, it's a question of who can navigate.

Typo56: It was all the O sells in the 150's to which I referred. 3 million plus had been traded altogether (not all sells) when I posted - a big increase of normal volume. Somebody desperate to offload? But price now almost what it was at open. As so often, I am confused.

Puzzling trades today. Anybody more adept than I at such things care to attempt an explanation?

I've sold out here. Its a good business, but 10 years into a recovery so times are going to deteriorate at some point. I sold because although adjusted EPS and the dividend is OK, they never really make any profit once the share based payments and exceptional items are added back. 3 folded + dividends since 2011 so not a bad investment. Its a very wide spread by the way! One to buy back in a recession - will probably go back to £1-2 at that point. Seems to be doing better than WPP but no doubt they are being hit with some of the same industry pressures.
