Just bought in as appears good value in view of the upbeat TS (for some reason trade is not showing) - are these traded on another exchange like ISDX?

As at 13.30, the bargains marked totalled 99,703 shares bought and 18.334 sold. For such an illuiquid stock, the comparatively 'modest' price rise thus far would indicate that the Mingy Machs were holding a somewhat surprising number of shares in their lockers ..... or are they?

Well done to he LPA team. My broker managed to get a further 10k top-up prior to the open.

I've posted forecasts and the WHI conclusion on Twitter for anyone interested.

@glasshalfull1

Kind regards,
GHF

Cheers hastings. LPA does look cheap on those numbers. This is a relatively small holding for me - I bought around the 130p mark from memory - but today's RNS reads extremely well and I may buy more if funds and circumstances (the share price!) dictate.

Ansc,

Maybe you could point me to the RNS that contains the figures as they seemed to be missing from the one I received :-)

I agree, steve3, what's not to like, the choice of words is irrelevant because the figures will speak for themselves. I'm still disappointed with their lack of response to my recent polite inquiries 'tho (puzzled to be told by reception that they don't have a designated company secretary).

That said, decided to add another 5k yesterday afternoon (after the morning's mark-down) and, for once, the gamble paid off.

Broker has 14.3p EPS for 2018 in this mornings note with a £2.00 target.I think that was already in place, but happy to be corrected.

Yes not in the NXT class as an RNS -still I'm sure the broker has been given the nod on new higher forecast numbers. Very tiny cap here for the market position. They have moved from a sedate trot to a moderately fast trot-now need to get back into a gallop. Jockey needs to get the whip out!

I can't read an LPA Trading Statement without wanting to slap someone!

It pretty difficult to have record sales at better margins than H1 and not exceed expectations (Stockopedia has 13.2p EPS) after doing 6.8p EPS in H1 so why a month after YE have they not said so?

What's not to like? We are pretty happy with the choice of words on the gallops here.....pointing to a good canter imho!
If the MMs point this down I will have some more.

agree dibbs - certainly positive but nothing like the statement a year or two back when they were 'galloping'.

For me it's not the best worded of trading updates though. Despite having a positive feel they aren't particularly clear as to where exactly they expect full year results to be with regards expectations!

Re post 642

Morning Tiger,

Did you "nudge" LPA about the trading update?

Any info much appreciated, as a holder, I admit I am getting a touch nervous with the silence from them (even though some previous years updates haven't been in Oct).

Andy.

fwiw My chart shows a potential turn 1-2 November.

The train in the header always looks so sad. Perhaps it's time for a happier one?

I DO AGREE that communication with shareholders is poor.
They must have the numbers now.

will leave it till end of next week and then give them a very polite nudge!

Will we be getting a trading update this year? LPA have been somewhat erratic with their timings over the past six years; last year it was announced on 27th September, '15 on 2nd November, '14 on 7th October, '13 none at all, '12 on 11th October and '11 on 9th November.

I've contacted the company twice recently to politely inquire ... by telephone (no return call) and email (completely ignored). If that's their approach to PR, I hate to think how they respond to customers inquiries. Very disappointing.

Telegraph yesterday.
Derby train-maker Bombardier has landed yet another huge order worth hundreds of millions of pounds - further guaranteeing the long-term future of its city factory.

The Litchurch Lane firm has won a share of a £680 million deal to supply trains for the new West Midlands rail franchise.

The contract will see the Derby firm make 333 electric carriages for West Midlands Trains – a consortium made up of Dutch national operator Abellio, the East Japan Railway Company and Mitsui and Co.

Trains for delivery 2020 to 2023.
Good news for LPA, they should get more orders from this over the next 6 years, underpinning the groups future steady growth.
