Fair enough, that's an alternative approach. I like the background of the management team though, as you say, they've never run a plc before so might have been caught on the hop.

Personally, I think the valuation is fine - they've been growing turnover at 30% - 40% p.a. for 3-4 years now and the market forecasts aren't up with events on the basis of the interims (mkt figures assume flat turnover in H2). Tech companies which grow at that sort of rate can often trade at much higher revenue multiples that LOOP currently do - the key is being able to sustain the momentum, which they appear able to do at the moment. Appreciate the contrary view though as its good not to get blinkered or fall in love with investments

Adam, I would have expected the CEO to have been more honest and to say that he couldn't say that director sales would never happen. And that with a low free float and at the right price, the directors and staff might well consider increasing liquidity and rewarding those who've held shares in the company for a long time.

To deny it outright was a silly thing to do. And it looks sillier now. The only caveat is that the company is new to the market and the CEO is probably inexperienced in dealing with such questions.

The share price increased to vertiginous heights based on poor liquidity and growth potential from a still small base relative to a £113m m/cap. It still looks overpriced to me.

I cant blame the directors for talking a bit of money off the table - we all have bills, mortgages and/or school fees to pay...and, Rivaldo, I know you're a very experienced investor and cant reasonably have expected the directors to give you price sensitive information!

To put this announcement in context:
- both co-CEOs sold less than 10% of their holding and still own around 6% of the company each
- CFO sold 60k shares but still has 100k options which he's committed not to selling
- COO sold one-third of his holding, but still has double that in options

Oh Well, what a bloody disaster. Bought these a few weeks ago at £2.95 and was concerned at the high level of sells but the price kept steady, until now!
That is me out for a small loss.

RNS just out notifying that the Directors and others are selling £7.8m of shares to satisfy the usual "institutional demand".

I'm not a holder as the rating is far too high in my opinion, but the amusing thing is that I went to the Proactive presentation recently and chatted to the CEO afterwards.

I specifically asked him if given the meteoric share price rise the directors or others had any intention to sell/place any of their shares. Oh no, he said, looking and sounding affronted.

Enough said!

I attended the Proactive investor evening last night where Steve Flavell (joint CEO) was presenting the investment case for LoopUp.

I think I now finally understand why they are so highly rated, but it's taken me just over 12 months to get there!

It always slightly amuses me when people bang on about 'free' applications or similar free products that are out there. Great for start ups and small companies, but anyone who works for a bigger company or multinational will know that they will rarely or never use 'free' software as somewhere someone has probably decided that those old nuggets such as contracts and service level agreements probably outweigh much cheapness in the corporate grand scheme of things. That's where LOOP are making inroads. Profits banked for me and we will now see how night it can go. I expect a fair bit...

John

You cant really value a company at this stage of its development as a multiple of earnings - if a company is consistently growing the top-line by 40% p.a. and has just moved into profit, then a PE multiple will be very mis-leading.

People will often look at EV/sales multiples which for something growing like this is could easily be 6x-8x say if you are confident that the growth will be sustained. These guys are on around 4x EV/sales which helps me get confidence that the valuation is very undemanding

Would they not be overvalued at market cap of over 80M with profit of 2.5M?
