03/6/2013 08:00 | kibu "Is fastjet any longer a Lonrho subsidiary?" No, it ceased being a Lonrho subsidiary last year - see the interims to June 2012 for the detail. | valhamos
03/6/2013 06:14 | your last 81 post dating back to the 22 Nov 2012 have all been about LONR & FJET, any comment, amateur poster ! | tenapen
03/6/2013 06:09 | I don't have any 'ilk' and i certainly am no mouthy southerner. | tenapen
02/6/2013 16:05 | Not seen any official note from Lonrho that they slipped from majority control of fastjet's to a controlling interest. It's in fastjet's accounts, released on Friday, however. Is fastjet any longer a Lonrho subsidiary? | kibu
02/6/2013 15:00 | Why would 'amateur' poster's spend so many years knocking Lonrho ?. Its a question i have asked myself so many times. Why would KIBU only ever post about LONR or FJET on advfn (or the LSE boards) ? seems a bit strange to dedicate oneself to knocking these two stocks !. He / They may be making money trading LONR but there as been better trades out there. Or maybe he is just bitter and then i feel for him / her. not that it matters, LONR will be gone and they will have only the FJET thread to go at. | tenapen
01/6/2013 20:32 | Thank goodness the Pfaffikon brigade goose-stepped in before fastjet released its results yesterday evening. The timing and truly dire figures should also ensure that there's no counterbid. Interesting to see that the added transparency confirms what a few amateur posters on the Lonrho boards have been writing for years. Even more interesting to guess 'why?' kibu | kibu
30/5/2013 16:25 | ndege, that would be funny about Mashonaland. Tiny Rowland used to own a tobacco farm in Mashonaland and lived there for over a decade. | kibu
30/5/2013 16:22 | Seeing this piece of news about Tullow and TEN http://www.upstreamo As "usual" there seem to be problems. The development size is now worth less than half the amount Lonrho reported and, in an article about the political problems published a few months ago, 'Modern Ghana' wrote,"Did Lonrho Ports lie to financial institutions about how it won the bid for the project?" kibu | kibu
29/5/2013 13:40 | How did you find out where the orchard was? I agree the valuation looks fishy - I can only guess it is arrived at via some optimistic discounted cash-flow exercise. | africahand2
28/5/2013 09:57 | I've been trying to wade through the offer document to find out when we finally get paid but have been unsuccessful. Anybody know the answer? | diamond1
22/5/2013 10:18 | so many RNS's | johnstonp
21/5/2013 19:53 | We can only hope ! | tenapen
21/5/2013 10:49 | Perhaps they think a higher offer is on the way? | diamond1
20/5/2013 08:32 | Am I missing something or are all the RNS showing institutions buying up the shares? | bernieboy
18/5/2013 09:05 | Somebody else mentioned it, but I've just looked it up: on 5th April H21 Macro Ltd picked up 40,311,060 new ordinary shares, which were created via "authority for the issue of new shares in the Company" This was worth £2.5m @ 6.2p, clearly a case of "the cat playing with a wounded bird" | mcgrathb
18/5/2013 08:55 | Hi ndege kidogo I've noticed that H21 Macro declared a total holding over 21% yesterday (Friday) which was constructed on 16/5/2013. Initially they had 40,311,060 (2.44%) of the ordinary. They acquired two Contract for Difference (CFD) for 241,292,222 (14.59%), with UBS and 30,000,000 (1.81%) with "MS", whoever they are; additionally 38,387,978 of the convertible (2.325). It seems there is a lot of action overall in the convertible, which, I assume, will be redeemed at face value. My guess is that because this stuff is listed on the Luxembourg exchange, FS Africa want to get a head start by buying it all in and "de-listing" PDQ. Additionally LONR have stated that: "The Company also maintains a secondary listing on the AltX (alternative exchange) of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and has American Depository Receipts traded on the OTC QX International Exchange in the United States under the ISIN US5433771053. Each American Depositary Receipt represents 100 Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company." These will also be "de-listed" PDQ in IMHO. Of course the FSA has gone, replaced with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). However, the threshold levels you refer to are from the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The LSE will not matter once LONR is taken private, at least for a couple of year when "son of Lonrho" appears. | mcgrathb
17/5/2013 17:40 | mcgrathb, if you're right then H21 were deliberately flouting the FSA rules requiring them to disclose all disposals taking them back down thru 1% thresholds to below 3%. That's about as likely as them finding that the stone fruit orchards in Mashonaland are worth the £ 40m odd book value in the 2012 R&A. | ndege kidogo
17/5/2013 15:42 | Bernie, No, they are in an ISA and so i will leave them there until the end. You never know they may get a counter bid ( i doubt it ) as c10p is too cheap IMO. Although i am kinda glad the end is up for LONR as the directors were not up for the job of exploiting the opportunities African agriculture / other as to offer. They were too busy lining their own pockets. Hae Ho. | tenapen
17/5/2013 13:34 | ndege kidogo claims that H21Macros "started building a long CFD position about a year ago", I disagree. I think they have been in and out. Last September in, sometime later out, because on 15/3/2013 they were back in again, in that no holding was declared in the RNS. BTW I've noticed that UBS picked another 2 million on the 15th, but declared them day. This is like an episode of "It Ain't Half Hot Mum", but the concert party is a bit more successful. | mcgrathb
17/5/2013 10:40 | Have you sold out now tenapen? | bernieboy
16/5/2013 17:51 | ndege, Maybe for you and the other traders, but the rest of us with day jobs buy and hold and invest. We do not have the time to sit at a computer hour after hour waiting for a point Up or DOWN. we have lives, where you may have money from your winnings, as you 'all' always seem to buy at the bottom the sell at the top. Edited; as i was thinking of my buying practices | tenapen |
