careful, I agree the leverage here is enormous, no borrowings and a market cap 20% of annual turnover. Right now it is academic, the rand price for platinum is under 12,000 and it has to go up more than 10% to give any hope. Even so could be worth a gamble for those with courage.

cap at about the same as turnover is modest for a miner.
this could mean that LMI has the potential to increase 3 fold from todays price.
sentiment towards pmg prices is a key factor.

my hunch is that electric cars will not be disruptive.
1 hours charging for each 30miles driven kills it off.
as does the power fall off of lithium batteries with time.
they become weaker and unreliable and only last about 4 years max.
$10,000 + to replace.
PMG's will be needed for conventional cars.

If they could persuade the unions and political forces in SA that their best interests are served with a profitable LMI this could do very well in the long term.

platinum up to 932.
LMI have already reduced their headcount.
If they could re open shafts with increased productivity profits could be made at todays PMG prices.

It will require cooperation from the unions, less bogus safety stoppages etc;
but there is hope.

I've been both long and short on this 'dog', shorted it from 117 and closed at 70. I'm now long in the mid-60s. Difference is, I'm not a complete broke bullsh*tter making up figures of how much money a point I'm making to impress my internet friends.Keep telling yourself you're a pro though sweetheart, I'm sure your internet friends really, really believe you.
