Sounds like this Apple Google initiative is going to be a bit of a non-event, unless there is some form of mandatory compliance.

waxylyricals - I think your last post is missing the most important reason for LSAI's existence.

A lot of location data providers are now climbing on the band wagon, claiming to have repurposed their mobile data inventory (comprising cellphone tower, GPS and Bluetooth) from 'ad targeting' to fighting the covid-19 pandemic and offering 'social distance modelling' and 'health status tracking'.

However, most of these companies have never really cared about location accuracy or precision before. Basically if they messed up, someone saw an ad that they weren’t interested in and just ignored it. But when we are talking about public health and law enforcement, any inaccurate or, at worst, fraudulent data supplied can be catastrophic. The following link clearly covers the extent of the problem, including other related stories.

That is why governments need to be very aware of this massive risk. Surely this is where Verify has a very big part to play in any solution.

Believe me so much data needed on this virus , not just surveillance post lock down . Location sciences have said they have offered there services to the government. We will see hopefully what they can offer .

The Company's ultimate aim is to be part of a technology solution to suppress the spread of COVID-19. In support of this it is encouraging to see new research suggesting digital contact tracing is likely to be the best means for restoring a sense of safety and freedom in our communities.

RNS OUT - AGM Statement

The usual get out clauses for poor financials being laid at the door of Covid-019 but then we see this little nugget of hope.

"One such opportunity is to use the Company's location technology and considerable knowhow to assist the UK Government in understanding the effects of its policies, as well as to be part of any track and trace COVID-19 solution. The Directors are actively working with the Company's partners, and reaching out directly to the UK Government, to inform its decision making. The ultimate aim is to be part of a technology solution to supress the spread of COVID-19 while allowing some form of normality to return to the economy and to everyday lives. The Directors will keep shareholders updated on any material developments in this regard."

Looks like Mark Slade reads these boards after all.
Now we simply need to get the UK Gov on board to adopt Verify for their new Coronavirus Tracking App and BINGO we have a viable business at last.
Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for this that they manage to pull it off.
Such a shame that we dont have an ex-Tory Cabinet Minister on the Board though as thats how these things usually work isnt it?

More consolidation in the industry

"... this will put pressure on other companies in the space and will likely pave the way for additional acquisitions or consolidation."

So is it only a matter of time before LSAI gets gobbled up?

Yes - the Chairman's, CEO's and CFO's reputations have definitely been tarnished, for now at least.

Right at the outset they all were very keen to disassociate themselves from the John Kennedy/Proxama debacle. Unfortunately they seem to be following in his foot steps.

Obviously not happy but still prepared to give them the benefit of doubt.
