31/5/2013 09:51 | This won't do any harm, either: The ICE dollar index (DXY), which measures the greenback against six major global currencies, climbed to 83.089 by late Friday afternoon in Hong Kong from 83.022 in North America late on Thursday. The advance adds to the gains recorded earlier this month, as rising U.S. Treasury yields and improving economic data increasingly drew investors to the greenback. The ICE dollar index is on track to rise more than 1.7% in May. The WSJ dollar index , a gauge that tracks the currency against a slightly larger basket of rival units, rose to 74.87 from 74.77. "The U.S. dollar has entered a new phase, in which better U.S. data mean stronger U.S. dollar and vice versa," analysts at RBC Capital Markets wrote in a note to clients. | supernumerary

31/5/2013 08:56 | Is it the positive news from Six Flags earlier this week being digested or anticipation of news on Wet n Wild contracts having googled that recruitment drive news or both ? Or is there something else driving this surge ? | davidosh

29/5/2013 20:07 | Spud. Where do you get your numbers from and why do you feel it's just the one 'mystery' buyer? | indiestu
29/5/2013 14:28 | 319k (£1.9m) shares absorbed @ £6 by our mystery buyer since the Bid has anchored at that price. When we hit news, this is going to pop in a big way imo. spud | spud
29/5/2013 12:11 | Mmmm sounds good. They are seeing increased spending on season passes which is always good news for premium products like a Qbot as most attendees are then coming in for free on their return visits. They had 26 million guests in 2012 and are seeing no regional variations so all parks looking to be busy with new rides this year. Very positive for LOQ. | davidosh
29/5/2013 11:29 | Just watched it - some extracts below: SIXF CEO - Jim Reid-Anderson (is he English?) Q1 attendances very strong. Summer season kicked off last weekend. V.strong growth across the company +8% last 12 mths Attendances: 2009 - 23.3m 2010 - 24.3m 2011 - 24.3m 2012 - 25.7m Annual Revenue: 2009 - $0.91bn 2010 - $0.98bn 2011 - $1.01bn 2012 - $1.07bn Investing around 9% of revenues (~$100m) into creating new rides in every park (considered R&D). Consider 2013 line-up the best in the company's history. Season pass = $60 - gives access to every park for a year [must help take-up of Flash Pass] | strollingmolby
29/5/2013 11:17 | davidosh, Here it is: http://www.bloomberg About to watch it now... | strollingmolby
29/5/2013 07:57 | Is there a link anywhere to the SF interview or Q1 summary? If SF are seeing attendances up 8% and that were to continue through the Summer it would be massive for LOQ and probably translate to at least double that in useage of the Qbot and even more if certain parks are regularly busy creating demand where awareness of the sysyem is very high. | davidosh
29/5/2013 07:29 | The Six Flags CEO was on Bloomberg TV yesterday evening - sounded very bullish about the year ahead. Nearly every park has a new ride or attraction for 2013 and first quarter attendances were up 8%. | jong

28/5/2013 11:02 | just added a few and as you say Spud MM's very happy to sit and take all they can at £6 whilst restricting the buys to 2250 currently. | felix99
28/5/2013 10:02 | This bit's interesting ( Southern hemisphere connections... ) Management/Ownership Wet n‟ Wild Las Vegas is a partnership between SPB Partners and Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP). SPB is one of Nevada‟s first private equity funds, and the Wet n‟ Wild investment includes participation from Andre Agassi, Dr. Steven and Karen Thomas (Thomas & Mack Companies), members of the Binion family and other local, long-term investors. SPB is managed by Roger and Scott Bulloch, Las Vegas natives and brothers, raised in a family of 11 children, most of whom continue to make Southern Nevada their home. A leading water park and theme park operator with Wet n‟ Wild branded water parks in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Hawaii, VRTP oversees day-to-day operations of Wet n‟ Wild Las Vegas. The company is Australia‟s largest theme park operator with Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World, Wet n‟ Wild Water World, Warner Roadshow Studios, Sea World Resort and Wet ‟n‟ Wild Sydney, which is currently under construction. | goodapple
28/5/2013 08:06 | I guess its quite notable, in terms of the size of their business, that LOQ would seem to believe that some deals for individual parks no longer justify an RNS? | shanklin
28/5/2013 07:54 | More info about Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas, the people behind it and the Xpress band: | orange1
27/5/2013 21:51 | 2013 - Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas - (5/17/13) Screamscape sources tell us that Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas will offer "Xpress Bands" for a price to reduce your wait times for the attractions. From what I'm told these will be armband system developed by Lo-Q. Check out the companies involved in Wet 'n' wild - Very big & influential. The knock on effect could be significant imo. spud | spud
27/5/2013 21:31 | That is very very interesting as funnily enough nearly a year ago we were in Wet n Wild in Orlando and I went to the guest services and moaned about the lack of a fast pass band and also complained that it is annoying to have to keep going back to lockers to get your money to pay for kids drinks and set they should find a way of providing a waterproof payment and queuing device...and hey presto !? Always worth mentioning such things on your travels as you never know how far it gets especially if tens of people mention the same issue. It is like playing in front of a home crowd we can be the secret shopper or additional salesperson that clinches the deal.. | davidosh
27/5/2013 11:42 | Yup looks like Xpress Bands developed by LO-Q. spud | spud |
