Received another 5.3% today. Explanation was that they were paid in 2 separate clips. One yesterday & one today.

rathair, if that's true about trades going in seconds after midday that's quite concerning, I agree. It wouldn't be insider trading unless ST was actually working for/running the companies he's tipping, of course. He rationalises the tips in the articles. It would be pretty unethical to tip companies in advance to certain people before articles are published, however, in the sense that it means the 'buy in' price is realistically never available to regular subscribers such as myself.

I always assumed it was due to trigger happy PI's following the 'Tommo Spike', but now that you mention it it does seem suspiciously fast to happen. I've never once managed to get his buy price despite being pretty fast to read the articles and make a decision.

From my experience the Investor's Chronicle are very good with customer feedback, so if you're a subscriber I encourage you to email them with your concerns and share their answer here, even if it's hogwash.

I still use his tips because I simply don't know enough about companies in the smallcap space and find his research useful (most of his tips happened to have worked for me, YMMV). But yes, the speed at which these trades go through after midday does smell a bit off.

Best to double check if its a tip as most tips are already bought into before the public see them.

Re spreadbet - I have brought it to their attention that their own rules state that SB's will be treat in the same manner as broker holdings, and that the Tender stated that excess tenders would be filled to an extra 5.3%.
They have reverted to their clearers, who were instructed to hedge at the basic 6,9%.

Smartening up - or just desperate to exit the holding and taking anything they can. It's lost around 6% since ST's last tip (which caused a 'Tommo Spike' leading people to overpay), so plenty of PI's looking for a way out of this without any loss. *Raises hand*
