04/8/2024 21:28 | We used to live in a class obsessed society. There was a social stigma attached to factory workers. Skilled manual workers are on the scale in socio economic groupings. Not a high rating. There was a time when factory workers could not even qualify for mortgage. Staff status was required. As scruff himself hints at engrained class attitudes when he suggests that his rich and smart barrister friend 'came from a humble background and actually went to a comprehensive school'. Wow, what a good example of class snobbery. The word 'actually' is truly shocking. Just telling us about a rich and smart barrister friend who was a multi millionaire would have sufficed. | careful | |
